Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I have only heard the term 'bed-sitter' in British dramas. Do they use it in your area??

Nope. I read it once in a book and found it immediately understandable, and have used it myself since to describe that particular arrangement. It's efficient :)

Your kids are kind of weird. Or maybe just homeschooled ;-)

In my email this morning...

Subject: Something you'll be glad to learn...

A South Carolina farm wife called the local phone company to report that her telephone failed to ring when her friends called and that on the few occasions when it did ring, her dog always moaned right before the phone rang.

The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog or senile lady. He climbed a telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed the subscriber's house. The phone didn't ring right away, but then the dog moaned and the telephone began to ring.

Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found:

1. The dog was tied to the telephone system's ground wire via a steel chain and collar.

2. The wire connection to the ground rod was loose.

3 The dog was receiving 90 volts of signaling current when the number was called. (poor puppy...)

4. After a couple of jolts, the dog would start moaning and then urinate.

5. The wet ground would complete the circuit, thus causing the phone to ring.

ALL of which demonstrates that some problems CAN be fixed by pissing and moaning.

Ha ha!!

I just think it's so dang funny!

Most of the time I think when parents and kids worlds collide, it's not good...there's conflict. But in our case it just seems hysterically funny to me!

Good morning!

I wouldn't eat this, even if I made it myself and knew exactly what was in it.

Kitty Litter Cake - YUMMY

(The little sloppy one drooping over the side is a nice touch)

LOL! I like those!

Though...I imagine if I tied a balloon to the tail of one of the real cats...it'd go a bit differently...
