Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It was a 'sunset' wedding, and yes, the musicians were all in black, but I was talking about he guests! I've seen more black at weddings than funerals in the last few years!

The procession was nice. Everyone walked down this long, winding, boardwalk from the promenade to the beach. There were two attendants, and two flower girls followed them, just before the bride. The youngest flower girl, who looked to be about 3, started down the walk, then her attention was caught by something on the dunes below. She went over to the balusters and started chattering about whatever it was, and threw some of the flower petals down to it. The second attendant had turned around and was calling to the little girl, trying to get her to move. Finally, she had to head back to her, and the litle girl's older sister took her by the hand to urge her on. It was just one of those 'cute wedding moments' Unfortunately, the photographer was too far down the boardwalk to get it on camera. I hope one of the folks who had arrived late, and were stuck on the promenade during the procession, was able to get a picture of it for the couple. The bride saw her, because she and her father were waiting to proceed. I'm sure she'd love to have a picture of it.

Hey! You're a '74 college grad, too?

U. Southern Miss, '74! Sounds like a long time ago, but sometimes, it seems like yesterday. Wierd.

They're fed, by the way. They were hunkered down in the lean-to, and after I'd already put the hay out, I realized I probably could have put the hay in the racks in there while they were busy with the grain. Oops.

Heh...Cyn tried to do a big rush to her grain bowl and slipped in the mud. Didn't look like she hurt herself, so I just laughed at her. ;-)

I had quite the get-up...found my oilskin hat so my glasses would stay dry and wore my hugh llama sweater...water doesn't affect its warmth. But it wasn't a very flattering outfit....

Heh, then you're still a bit ahead of me. '74 was my BA. I didn't like school enough to continue on to an MA. Toyed with the idea of doing an MA in Library Science, but the older two were still little, and the only program was an hour away.

I want to learn my architectural CAD program better. Might even do the 'official' training for it. That'll have to wait until we get settled, though. If the college had offered Construction Technology as a major when I was there, I might have done that, but they didn't start that program until several years after I left. The Community College in Gulfport offers it as an Associates Degree. I may take the Const. Tech courses, just for the info; don't need an Associates degree.

The heater channel.

The heater channel runs all the way from behind the rear seat, along the side of the car (under the door) and all the way to the place where your feet go.

The heater channel is critical in the structure of the car...and our driver's side has to be removed and completely replaced with a new one.

Steve has begun preparing for this eventuality by bolting the door into proper position on that side...to hold it steady while we literally cut the bottom off the car.

The rest of the repair to be done is mostly plain body work...although eventually the passenger side will need to be done as well. It's not critical though. The driver's side is almost completely disintegrated and we risk it collapsing.

This will likely be our most expensive "body" repair...and the most difficult. Like Frodo though...we're afraid to begin.

We still have a small bit left from when you were here of the blueberry...Steve had some with his breakfast this morning! I had it for supper in the shop last night.

This month it's a Polish cheese "Suwalski," a "semi-soft cheese made from Cow's milk." Looks like it would be a good melting or sandwich cheese. Hopefully, it's good for snacking since I like snacking. :)

I have a little bit of the cheese from two months ago to finish first.

Hullo - we're home, everyone looks fine, the cats seem disgruntled and there was a mishap or two in the house, but nothing looks worse for wear.

Had to get my drainage cleaned out in the paddock, it's just wet out there. Horses will like being able to come in a little early tonight.

Thanks for feedin' for us :~)

They're fine. It's wet, but it's not real cold yet. They'll appreciate getting in tonight, I think, it doesn't take long for the paddock to become a sloppy place to try to sleep in.
