Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

What time do you guys want to order pizza?
To: RosieCotton
Whenever you're hungry! We can hang out till the show starts :~)

I should at least bring my card over...
I think maybe while we're waiting and until it gets dark, I'll work a bit more on the bed in front of the house. I'm beginning to wonder if I really need a frame for it. It'd look tidier, maybe, but I think there's enough soil there, I may not need to add a lot more.

"Hair and I will continue to send donations as often as finances allow." Ecurbh, does this mean that the program is no longer accepting requests, but will still accept donations to fill outstanding requests? I've been meaning to send a donation for awhile, but kept forgetting. But I'd like to do so if they are still being accepted.;

Sam,
Not sure if ecurbh and winmag are around. But I'm certain the need still exists to cover stuff already sent.
Any and all help is appreciated.

Hi Corin, how's it going?
We've been offline for a week or so, most of the time, with computer problems. I think it's about time to replace the old Windows 98 unit we are running. Thinking about switching to a MAC.
On another note, I cooked dinner tonight for the family. My daughter said it tasted exactly like Amtrak food.

Good to see you Sam. If you're still running Windows 98, then yes, it's time for a new computer.

Okay, a new list:
- A naked person
- Hair
- ninja(s)
- animatronic strippers
Anything else?

I'ma gonna say this one more time real nice like.
No ninjas, no animatronic strippers, no naked people.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I think it's only good by the association with riding a train...Amtrak food isn't very good. Not exactly a compliment!

And I say again...ninjas are sooooo last year.
And I don't have room for strippers, animatronic or otherwise.
Probably no naked people, either.

I'm fine with crossing ninjas, strippers, and nekkid people off the list. (Even though there *will* be a discussion about ninjas in my story.)
But I have been trolling through the Dare Thread at the Nanowrimo site and making a list of crazy, wacky things that would be *perfect* for my characters. (ie, one of the peripheral characters is trying to convince people he's from Austrailia. His accent is really bad. No one buys it. I'm going to have him pretend to be stalked by a giant wombat. Or maybe he'll call every animal he sees a wombat. Anyway, wombats are on the dare thread.) Wanna compete to see who can use the ideas from there?
Just a thought. Makes it more like a buffet. Pick-n-choose.
