If he's a runner, he's a s l o w runner. :~)
He's in right now...I let him on in when I got home. For the moment, anyway.
He looks *huge* indoors.
He's interested in water, but not food so far.
LOL!
I just stuck him back outdoors for a minute with the food...see if he eats it without Cisco trying to get to it.
Well, you can probably let Cisco tell you if he's at all food aggressive. Somehow I doubt he is, but better he get nipped than you :~)
Does he seem like he is used to being in or was it odd to him? Are the cats loose or put up?
I'm going to look and upload the pics of him I took earlier.
It was hard to tell food aggression since he didn't act interested in the food...so Cisco just tried to barge in.
He didn't seem all *that* amazed to be in a house. Checked everything over, but I *think* he's been indoors.
I'm still not decided if I'll let him sleep in the house tonight, though. He's out at the moment, just to see if he'll eat when he's on his own.
The cats hid out while he was in.
Trotter?
I think in person Cisco looks even smaller in comparison than he does here...
Here's the spot on his butt... this has obviously been shaved recently, and although it looks like it was once a large sore, it's almost completely healed now.
We see what you mean, that is a big dog; still quite a strikingly handsome fella. Photo 2 shows may show scale, but Photo 3 has gypsygirl waving her paw, HI!
He has a sweet face. :~) And although we've been a little reluctant to poke and prod him too much till he's got some trust in us (I guess he has a similar possible hot spot on his belly) I think he's basically really good natured. My dogs challenged him pretty aggressively through the fence, and for that matter, so did Cisco, and he basically ignored them all. And he sniffed Cartman, and got hissed and whacked at, but he wasn't overly lunging at him, and backed right off when Cartman hissed.
He and Cisco are now taking turns with certain toys, and he's not defending possession at all.
I'm gonna need more nylon bones if he's here more than a few days.
*sigh*
He's also licking at himself somewhat. Trying to discourage that.
Well, ~if~ he sticks around, it would be good to get him in to a vet next week and get him on some kind of treatment that's appropriate. He's obviously had some kind of serious itchy problem that might be about cleared up, but sometimes it just becomes habit to lick and chew.
A dog mooned the thread.
The first picture didn't show much in the way of scale, so he looked like a cute, chubby puppy. But in other shots, he looks like a HUGH dog. But he's still cute.
Somebody has to be missing him.
I'm still deciding if he's going to stay in for the night or not. We just had a minor squabble, for no apparent reason, after several hours of them being OK inside together. They're back to sleeping again, but it makes me nervous.
Well, depending on the intensity and if there's just noise or any blood drawn, there's bound to be a ~little~ squabbling while they sort out boundaries. If they settled back down and there was no harm done I wouldn't worry. If you might still worry, you could block him out of the bedroom with a short barrier, like an ad hoc kiddie gate if you were wanted to make a safe haven for Cisco, or the the cats.
Heh... he's a big dog :~) I hope, if there's someone missing him, they find the signs. He doesn't seem like the type to have come from very far.
Well...I think it was food related. He still won't even sniff the dry food, but I was prepping something for tomorrow and he was sitting next to me when Cisco walked up. He pinned Cisco and there was a lot of noise, but best I can tell, that's all there was. And now they're both back to napping.
I guess it's probably OK. But it's not like I can do a lot if they really *did* get into it.
A loud HEY! CUT THAT OUT usually interrupts it, and if that doesn't work, go outside and get the hose. :~)
Really, if you're worried about it, put that rope back on him and let him drag that around. You can pull him off with that, if you want.
Never mind...problem solved. I got a phone call and a lady just came and got...her, as it turns out. Oops. Trouble with too much hair...
The lady lives just down the road and apparently this dog is going to be adopted out through a malamute rescue agency, but she's fostering her.
So...there's that.
