Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm listening to my Lunasa CD. I can just see those flutes and whistles hitting the floor...

Eek!

Heh...at the Makem Brothers concert I went to, one of the brothers played a really cool octave mandolin that the other brother had *just* gotten. And then while doing an intro for another song, he dropped it. All the way.

You've never heard such a big room full of people get so quiet.

I can imagine they had a little discussion afterwards, but apparently it didn't get more than dinged.

Hey - do you want to come over for a bit and see if you want some of my better clothes I'm getting rid of?... I went on a wardrobe shopping trip today and bought some new stuff and I need to make room. A lot just needs to be tossed but I've got quite a bit of stuff that's casual or even formal office wear that even with hope I might fit into it again one day, I just don't have room!

Sure, might as well take a look!

And maybe your cat will come back with me and stay put... ;-)

Be over in a sec.

Good morning Hobbit Hole!

Hopefully today will be nice and challenging. I am sore from a nice bike ride I took last night. Since Talon managed to not just keep up but outpace me on roller blades, I obviously need more work at it.

I took Jack the Cattledog for a (brisk) walk yesterday afternoon. I'm pleased that he got tired before I did. :)

Heh... we did about 8 miles. My bike's not in great shape and neither am I but it was fun.

Hmmm, gotta do some NaNo.

Mmm...NaNo.

I poked around a little at the forums over there yesterday evening...read some of the FoCo group stuff, though I didn't post. I'm gonna miss those guys. *snif*

I still haven't picked a plot.

Up, and showered and ready for work...except that I'm trying to get my shoes on, and as usual, that's when Tam decides he *must* sit in my lap, and won't take no for an answer.

He's very velcro-like when he wants to be.

Me either. But after kicking around the NANO forums while waiting for the test station to be clear I might have one. I am thinking about a plot involving a Nigerian scam email. Or what looks like one... The idea is that someone replies to one, thinking/knowing it is a scam, with the intent of yanking the chain of the scammer. But then people come and try to kill him. Is it all real and they are tying to stop him or is it part of the scam to make him think it is real?

And at the end, he beats the bad guys, winds up filthy rich, and rides off into the sunset with the girl? ;-)

Leading us all to wonder what might have happened to us if we'd actually taking one of those messages seriously...

I guess I have a few ideas. Thinking of trying something realistic this time. But I also really hate to give up the sort of space drama thingie I've been working on this past month...hoped to finish it by the end of the year.
