I went to Home Depot yesterday and got a ridiculous number of bulbs. I don't know whether I'll do any planting today, but hopefully I can at least scope out where I wanna put 'em. Might get ambitious and dig a new bed.
I did better with flower beds than lawn this year. Not that that's saying much, but...
I planted a bunch of daffodils and crocus last year and hopefully they'll come up next spring. After I get the windows painted, I'm going to tear down that planter box and plant azaleas there.
OT
I got a couple pics for you of myself and a platoon member for you. When I receive the grappling hook I will get some pics of us training with that. Thanks for everything. The first one is of me using the flashlight from Hobbit Hole to clean my weapon. And the other is a pic of a platoon member with his knife mounted to his IBA [far right].
Thanks, PFC N
One interesting observation is that this is an engineer unit, but they all have assorted "customized" M16s.
And this is the pocket grappling hook he's referring to:
We already have three of these grapples promised to engineering and EOD units.
Wow...fantastic!! What handsome men!
OT just left...about 10 minutes go. We had a wonderful time and I never laughed so hard in my life. She has the greatest wit and I would be just talking along and suddenly roaring with laughter.
I really did have a fun weekend.
Now, my plans for the rest of the day is to try to figure out where in OK my family is and start to work on one of my seats for My Precious. I'm planning on taking the seat springs to the car wash and just blasting them with hot soapy water, then letting them dry, then spraying them with a rust encapsulator spray.
Then, after we get the floor pan in on the driver's side, we can sit in the seat and steer the car since the steering colume is unlocked and by then it will have all four new tires.
Then, we can haul it places to have serious work done on it.
One of the things I miss living south of the frost line is the lack of spring bulbs. We can only plant them if they have first spent some months in the refrigerator, then dig them up again in the fall to do the same. Too much effort!
Welcome back - the mid 80's predicted managed to run up to mid 90's. Hmmm. That's a bit more than usual for October first. Nice breeze though.
Just got home a few minutes ago....240.6 miles from the gas station on the corner to my driveway. I'm getting ready to open the Cynthiana to have with my turkey and provolone on rye.
Yes, my butt is sore....you can tell Joshua, or not. :)
Beautiful day here. Talon and I took his kayak down to a little lake and played around in the water. We are going to need to get me one next season :-)
Sounds nice and outdoorsy!
For some reason, I don't feel like working on windows.
LOL!!
I'll tell him.
Good...glad you made it home safely. Joshua was disappointed you had gone, he thought you missed seeing the spider. I told him I showed you.
Back out to the shop...see ya!
Oh...Matthew drove the pickup while they were in the campground.
Ha!
I don't blame you at all.
I had a great time. Lots of sun and fresh air. Tomorrow I start work...
Did they come back smelling like pot?
wait a minute... did I say that out loud?...
Oh, cool!
I probably won't get to see it tonight, but will tomorrow.
So far, strangely enough, the ex-druggie model guys seem like the nicest team. :-\ Not sure how to take that. Odd year.
I was sorry the Indian couple got booted so quickly. I liked them.
I take it you guys are back...your cat just showed up. ;-)
Hi! We're home :~)
I guess that's probably bad of me... :P
