I thought his flick "Mulholland Drive" was good.
One of my favorite directors...a real artiste!
But then,I'd watch Laura Dern read the Manhattan telephone directory.
Lynch is a true original. You go into his movies without knowing what he's going to show you, and though it's always unexpected, it is true to his artistic character, not just something tossed up to be different.
There is something driew ylsuoires about a David Lynch production. Still, when it comes down to the short list of people you'd like to have a beer with ... Lynch earns an "I'll have what he's having" entry :)
Lynch is great. Weird, but great. One of America's best filmmakers.
One of my all-time favorite directors. If you are a Lynch conniseur, rent "Lumiere" or his short films DVD. "Lumiere" was a series of short films shot on a rebuilt Lumiere brothers camera by various directors-- Lynch's is last and is OUTSTANDING.
He's brilliant. I wish he'd stop smoking because I want him to stick around for a long time. BTW, I hear he is a conservative. I sat with him for a day in the edit bay while we recut a commercial he directed-- way back in '92 or so. He was a genuinely warm, patient, open hearted man.
Blue Velvet rules...and any soundtrack that combines the strains of Angelo Badalamenti and the melancholy vocals of the Polish Prince is top shelf.
