Hi Rudy,

Your Macbook has both a backspace key and a forward delete key. They are one and the same key... Used without a modifier it is a normal "Backspace" key... but hold down the Function key and it is a "Forward Delete" key... what you call a "delete in place"...

In other words, the "backspace" deletes to the left, and moves leftward as the characters are deleted. With the Function Key, the Backspace deletes to the right, and pulls the text to the right toward it as the next character to the right is deleted.

I tried it and it worked... I lamented the lack of it since purchasing mine.
