A nursing supervisor at a western New York hospital has confirmed to the Associated Press that two state troopers have been shot in Chautauqua County.

AP reports that Sheryl Polito, nursing supervisor at Brooks Memorial Hospital near Fredonia, said one of the troopers had been brought to Brooks before being flown to Erie County Medical Center and that another trooper was taken to Hamot Medical Center in Pennsylvania.

AP also reports that a nursing supervisor at Erie County Medical Center, who declined to give her name, confirmed a state trooper was in critical condition. She said she did not expect his condition to change tonight.

I thought once he lost his leg his life was secured. How awful...I hope those Bucky supporters feel real good about this.

From the local news in Rochester, NY:

The reward for information leading to arrest and conviction of Phillips more than quadrupled Friday, it's now over $200,000.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Command Post at (716) 679-1520.

Bucky boy better give himself up. he will go out in a blaze of fire.
Even folks that live around his neighborhood are going armed. They don't want hom around.

I wonder what extra charges they can make for the people who harbored him. I believe I remember reading that there may be Federal charges that can be made... Now that a State Trooper has died, I doubt there will be any leniency in court for those who assisted Phillips.

This guy will never give up, IMO. He will die resisting...and I hope they put away all those that abetted him.

" ummm... that was no accident. IIRC that guy DRAGGED the Trooper about a mile before he was shot to death."

Yes...it takes a real bright person to drag a state trooper instead of stopping and saying "yes officer."

It's too bad the guy is dead...but that guy is a candidate for the Darwin awards.

absolutey... it's not rocket science.

no matter WHAT happens... do what they say and call your lawyer later if you think you were wronged.

but do what they say.

Got that right. He will die resisting arrest and save the state any bleeding heart stories.

He's gotta eat and drink. The weather is changing and the leaves will start falling. I'll give him a month at the most. Hunters are out now. Look for the creep to try to buy or steal "orange".

Can't believe those people harbored him. As far as I'm concerned, they are accomplices to murder.

Hey, we all hunt up here. If it's brown its down. So if the staties don't get him, some hunter or farmer will be tacking his hide to the barn wall.
As far as I know there is NO one harboring this killer. Perhaps his kin folk. But not the rest of us. We want him gone. Don't know about anyone else but when I go to the barn or I'm in the fields, I'm packing. Just like the rest of my neighbors.

Can they be charged with accessory to murder? Probably not. But I don't think that there will be much leniency here.

The problem is too many dudes in the woods right now and in camoflauge. It's making it tough for the cops. They even commented last night about some ladies checking their "turtle traps".

I wouldn't be surprised if a hunter did take the dude down but he has the advantage. He's sneaking, you're not.

Please guys....be careful. Stay in pairs. Your advantage is radio communication and you know who should be on your property. If you don't have two ways, pick up a cheap set. Mine are excellent in the flats. We do relays in the hills.

Be careful!! Stay safe!!

When this all began, there seemed to be quite a few people who had the 'run Bucky, run' attitude. It was never funny to me. Once the situation became more apparent, most here dropped the jokes and got concerned for their family and friends, as this dope stole our cars, broke into our cabins, and terrorized our home. Now, on the national news, this attitude resurfaces as more people learn about this jerk. Please don't look at this guy as some victim of our 'system that let him down', he appears to be dangerous, by his choice. He makes the choices that put him, his family and friends, and the rest of us in danger. Go get him NYSP!

That reply was not directed to you. I'm still getting the hang of this. It was a general statement, not related to your previous post.

DN, I wanted to thank you for the heads up on that, it was the first I'd heard. I posted last Thursday, and spread the word to people I know with camps and travel plans to the area for the holiday weekend. On Friday, the first official State Police warning for my area aired and now it's all over the news as it should be till they catch him.

It is evident that not everyone can handle freedom, this guy in particular. He is now cornered next to a golf course in a heavily wooded area. I doubt he will surrender, hopefuly no other cops get shot, hopefuly he will not go to trial.
