It was only a matter of time until someone wanted the ugly lesbians back into the sport.

Oh, you mean she has to play tennis to be on the court? The fool who wrote the headline is using looks as an excuse for those that lose. I don't care what they look like... play the game.

Nike has her in a starring role that only makes it worse. The "I feel pretty" commercial. Lame to me; a waste of 60 seconds.

I watched the match. Her outfit had some flash to it but it was basically classy (black with black sequins around the neckline), her deportment was professional, her interview responses were respectful, her treatment of her fans was top-notch and she was all business on the court athletically.

if USTA wants to make tennis more popular, especially women's tennis, they should be requirted to play topless.

Maria Sharapova

If she couldn't play tennis at the Open level(like Anna Kornakova), I'd say yes to glam wrecking the game.
But she laces up her shoes like every one else and powders the ball like the no one else.
If that is glamor - give me more!

It's the only thing that makes me even glance at women's tennis. Seeing hags like Billie Jean King and Navratalova is frightful. Chris Everett....that's a different story.

It's not like she is wearing dangling diamond jewlery and boots like the Williams sister have in the past. Maria is focusing on Tennis.

women's golf has a bunch of young, rather sexy looking women in it and women's golf is exploiting it.
the motto is "these girls rock" not "these ladies/women rock"
further, the girls have obviously been told to use their looks to market themselves.
I watched the Wendy's championship in Dublin OH in person, and most of the girls were clearly uncomfortable with what they were wearing which generally showed a lot of very attractive legs.
Natalie gulbis (zero tour wins) in particular was not comfortable with about 100 people who followed her group around the course. Only eventual winner Ochoa and Paula Creamer had as many people following.

What you dont' agree? I firmly believe that every woman's sport should only be allowed to have women so ugly they look like someone set their face on fire and put it out with a track shoe. I also believe that all female athletes that look like Sharapova should be banned from the league and made to come over to my house.

Translation: The lezbos no longer dominate womens tennis and that's not cool.

It used to be in woman's tennis that...you really didn't care. The top 3 women were it and the rest were filler. Now, men's tennis is dull and women's tennis is where its at. Not only are they pleasent to look at but they can really play. Their field is much deeper than it was a decade ago.
Women's golf is just starting to learn this lesson.
