Too much glam in her game?
Yahoo! Sports ^

Maria Sharapova won in style Wednesday at the U.S. Open. Literally. But is the focus on glam wrecking the women's game?

What you dont' agree? I firmly believe that every woman's sport should only be allowed to have women so ugly they look like someone set their face on fire and put it out with a track shoe. I also believe that all female athletes that look like Sharapova should be banned from the league and made to come over to my house.

BTW, if glam is a problem, how come no one has pulled Dennis Rodman's dumb ass out of the game?

natalie knows sex sells and she is selling.

I would say, go to an lpga event and watch the expression on these young girls' faces as they play the course.

They are definitely uncomfortable.

I've been to LPGA events; these "girls" are feeling the pressure of the professional situations, and such competitive intensity is not due to worrying about oglers; it's the intensity of the pressure of the sport, coupled with people watching their every move, and being conscious of every flaw is exploded in print, photo, and video micro-analysis ad nauseum.

It's not unique to the LPGA; it's a fact in all sports that do not depend on "team-mates". You're on your own, and you know it.

Translation: The lezbos no longer dominate womens tennis and that's not cool.

First, I can't find where Natalie had a boob job.

Second, I don't think it is the pressure as a lot of these golfers are not going to win and are out just playing golf on a nice course. The money just is not there for there to be that much pressure.

The top golfers and Wie in particular have a lot of pressure, but most are just out there golfing.

It used to be in woman's tennis that...you really didn't care. The top 3 women were it and the rest were filler. Now, men's tennis is dull and women's tennis is where its at. Not only are they pleasent to look at but they can really play. Their field is much deeper than it was a decade ago.
Women's golf is just starting to learn this lesson.

IMO, Maria doesn't pull of the serious seductress look very well. She looks mean and angry:

This is a better look for her and more becoming of her personality:

Smiles always trump that p.o. at the world look.

Now, men's tennis is dull and women's tennis is where its at.

However, it appears that men's tennis is getting a revival of sorts, thanks to the Roger Federer-Rafael Nadal rivalry, the increasing success of James Blake and Andy Roddick suddenly being competitive again.

I agree. That was the first Wimbledon that I have watched in 10 years.
My dad and I used to always watch the Men's US OPen Final at a bar. As a kid , I thought it was the greatest way to spend a day.
I like Nadal's Capri pants.

You don't get product endorsements by looking like Billie Jean King.
