No doubt. He's a loon, but one with a certain craftiness.

But it kept him out of prison in Thailand didn't it? I hear that Saddam claims that HE killed Jon Bennet Ramsey.

But it kept him out of prison in Thailand didn't it? I dunno, do we have an extradition treaty with Thailand. Bet we do. Or if not, something can be arranged on a one time basis.

My exact suspicion when they started talking about him, I thought there might have been a reason (other than the Ramsey case).

No.

But it kept him out of prison in Thailand didn't it? Exactly. I believe this was his goal all along. He was a hair's breadth from being tossed into a cell in Bangkok.

Karr was never going to prison in Thailand. He was in his apartment when picked up at the request of US authorities.
But let's not let facts get in the way of a good supposition. It's important to find poetic irony.

Even if it kept him out of prison there, he can still be extradited back to Thailand.

It looks as though there weren't any charges in Thailand (after all, it's not a big taboo there). He was arrested for the U.S. charges on the second day of his new school, after being fired from Bangkok Christian Academy (all boy school) for being too strict (first and second graders were not staying at their desks and he thought it was time they did, which didn't work for the mommies, who sound like some American mommies we've heard of).
