This is a reference thread with links to previous FR threads discussing the arrest of a suspect, John Mark Karr, in the decade-old cold case concerning the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, plus case resources for continued commentary on investigation of the crime.
they cannot account for Karr on 12/24, 12/25, 12/26 and most likely up to Jan 4, 1997. There is no proof of where he was or was not.
what is most amazing about Lacy - she simply refuses to accept that Karr is simply a kook. a sicko who researched all this stuff on the internet, and became engrossed in it, and was egged on in all these emails et al, to exchange it. she lends ZERO credence to this simple concept.
And his future as a celebrity suspect is now assured.
Lacy just said that she believes he did not commit the crime. perhaps someone in her office, perhaps there is one sane person there who finally went to her and said "what the hell are we doing, this guy is a sicko who was egged on in these correspondences. let it go".
the case against Karr, is closed.
In the real world yes, in the internet world of tin foil conspiracies, it will never be closed.
And this scumbag will find a way to profit from it, just like the tabloids have for the last 10 years. The victimization of the Ramseys seems permanent to me. I wonder if Burke thinks about changing his name?
Karr may have not been involved in the JonBenet case. But this man is a predator and should not be allowed around children. I do not think all his fantasies are dreamed up. I believe that he is a pedophile and that he has acted on his fantasies and desires in the past. In other words in my opinion Karr has child victims out there someplace and hopefully the parents or these children have come forth and went to their local authorities.
who knows? You still think Karr did the crime? I don't think he did now since the DNA does not match, but I will never think the Ramsey's did this!
I don't think he did it. I was always rather skeptical about him, but did think it was possible. I do wonder if he could be in contact with the person who did. The one thing that makes me question that is if SBTC was indeed written on his letters to his ex wife.
My skepticism about SBTC and JMK had to do with the fact that the phrase "...saved by the conquerer..." was just lifted out of the middle of a sentence as opposed to being a stand-alone sign-off. So, I thought about that and wondered what would happen if I randomly grabbed a book off the shelf and looked for the same acronym appearing in a phrase embedded in any sentence. Surely by page 400 or so I would find a match. In fact, by page 21 I had one. I think this was just a coincidence. I was willing to accept that it *could* have significance but I also realized it might just be coincidence.
If we find this phrase somewhere else, say in a letter to his ex-wife, then I could see that it is something more. But to date I haven't seen a document like that.
BTW, I would encourage others to try the same thing and see what you get. It won't take long.
>>>the case against Karr, is closed.>>>
I think it would be funny (not funny in a haha, but funny ironic) if he really DID do it.
Want to not be executed, claim you WANT to be executed and deny appeals.
Want to get away with murder? Claim to have done it and act really weird when you do. Then get your family to say you were there with them producing a photo that might have been that year and claim that someone you were related to is in the photo, so there's your proof.
Wow, I should write a crime book on how to get away with the perfect murder.
Yeah, I noticed in the small part of the press conference that I saw, Keenan-Lacy said that Lara and JMK were essentially "estranged" at the time of JBR's death.
That was the first I'd heard that. Some people had said they were sleeping separately the last 5 years of marriage, but that didn't tell me whether they were ever out of each other's sight for very long, i.e., at the Christmas holidays.
"Estranged" sounds to me like separate living arrangements, as in homes.
That bothers me. Because the Christmas alibi is essentially useless without dated photo evidence of his presence.
Being excluded from the DNA doesn't exclude him as a suspect because they don't actually know that the DNA is sourced from the perp, only that it could be.
Which means he will capitalize on his infamy. And Hollyweird/MSM will feed his (and others) sickness.
WTH? You really hate me, don't you?
Sure - name removed. I doubt there will be much further FR discussion on this. Thanks for your contributions, above and beyond the call of duty in seeking justice for JonBenet. Take care.
I honestly agree with you that the failure to match DNA shouldn't exonerate Karr on its own but the failure to come up with *anything else* other than his own bizarre statements means they could never win a conviction.
This actually happens in police work all the time - they have somebody who "looks" guilty but they just have nothing solid to pin the case on him. The cops usually just bide their time until they can find something that breaks the case open.
FWIW, I don't think Karr was anywhere near the murder site and I still believe, as I have going on nine years, that the Ramseys *know* the killer and have covered up for him/her. I can't tell you who that person is - it might not even be the immediate family - but the Ramseys have from the beginning been a family that doesn't act like they want the truth known.
The fact that Lin Wood was prancing before microphones even while the news first broke that Karr was in custody was partly what fueled my suspicion. If he had shut up and waited for an appropriate time to speak, the arrest would not have seemed like a PR move.
From what I read about Karr, he's definitely a pedophile and I don't doubt that his DNA sample will wind up matching some poor child's assault somewhere but, in my opinion, most people who become obsessed with a particular crime do so because they want to learn who did it - not because they themselves did it. A person who did the crime is trying to find out what law enforcement knows so they can avoid detection but their questions are going to be different than the ones of somebody who is trying to "get close" to the crime as Karr clearly did.
Oh...I agree with you on the "Shall be the Conquerer" phrase. If the ex had letters that were specifically signed with SBTC, that would raise my suspicions. I don't know that any have been produced.
