Fair and balanced? What is going on with the coverage of the abducted Fox reporter and cameraman? After minimal coverage leading up to their release, we get statements of what a beautiful & kind people the Palestinians are, and that Islam has their HIGHEST respect! Lets be fair and balanced to the hundreds kidnapped, tortured, and killed at the hands of these beautiful and respected people. Fox News needs to remember that Fair and Balanced reporting is what made them the number one in the US, not the political correctness we can get from rival stations.

In other words, these two agreed to convert to Islam in order to escape.
They should put their self-respect up on eBay, starting bid $0.02.

I'm really disappointed. They gave up their souls to save their lives.

I have the highest respect for Islam, and I learned a lot of good things about itNothing that George W. Bush hasn't said.

BTW, welcome to Free Republic. Pretty edgy topic for a first post.

They are saying they were forced to convert to Islam.
But, has either renounced his 'conversion' since they have been freed?

I think that if you tried, you could possibly come up with a less informative headline.
But it'll take work.

They were still in Gaza when they made those statements. Rush is talking about this right now. They weren't released to Israel until after they had made that statement. They were not "unharmed" , as stated in the NYT. No one is unharmed, who if forced to renounce their faith, it may not be a physical harm, but it sure is mental harm.

Their press conference and photo-op with the Pals was sickening, and WITHOUT a gun to their heads.
I am sure that Fox and their cohorts in the MSM will soon be AGAIN reporting:
"Did US troops commit ATROCITIES?"
"Is the USA is losing in Iraq?"
"Is George W Bush is dangerous, stupid, corrupt, incurious, a liar, or an idiot?"
BUT;
The Pals are kind and beautiful and need their wonderful story told.
Their "kidnappers" are forgotten, never spoken about in anger, or defiance, or threats of arrest.

I believe there was minimal coverage leading up to their release to elude Islam into thinking that they were not getting coverage. Most of the kidnappings are done strictly so a point can be made, and if no-one is covering the story, or making a huge point out of it, their MO was shot. After their release, their was more coverage to find out EXACTLY what was going on. It was their first public appearance and their was more emphasis on what they had to say. I agree that Fox should have clarified why there was minimal coverage after the fact. Fox has always been fair and balanced, and I would hate for them to lose that title for one mishap, they need to watch carefully how they handle these issues. Nice Post!
