Yes FReepers and FReeperettes, its time once again for another season of Survivor.
This time they are in the Cook Islands, in the middle of the South Pacific.

I was going to start off this thread by informing you all about how Mark Burnett’s Production Company has decided to split the tribe along ethnic backgrounds. But that subject has been pretty much beaten to death on at least three different threads. So. . . .

I would like to point out that for all their talk about “minorities” not applying to the show as much as “whites” and about how they had to send their casting producers out to round up minorities, they apparently didn’t have to look too far.

Of the 20 contestants recruited for this season, no less than 13 are from California!
And of those 13, NINE are from the greater Los Angeles area!
So much for diversity!

I enjoyed that show. I also wonder why Billy is even there. Just like on The Apprentice I feel the producers intentionally pick an obvious lethargic slacker for drama.

Interesting that the guy on Exile Island took a swig out of his canteen. There was a green bottle neck sticking out of the mouth hole. So, we learn that they are drinking bottled water, not maggot water they found.

Also, the rodents look too soft to me. I bet they are paid extras. Pet rats and mice.

I notice that this time the contestants are wearing more clothes than ever. Right away tonight I saw at least one black lady wearing jeans. One other lady wore thigh-high socks all through the show. Used to be all the females seemed to wear bathing suits all the time.

I was not comfortable with the Billy trick. Yes, he needed to be voted off but I ended up resenting Ozzy and the other guy more than I wanted Billy gone. Admit to Probst? I figured the crew would have filled him in on such news as a matter of routine. I think he knew way before the contest began.

Hi, didn't watch real closely tonight, but I did see that Yul(?) found the immunity idol on the island. That seemed good, so far I like him and Jonathan. The one voted off was a good choice.

Billy and Candace are in love...

that was creepy. He told her I'm going home, she replies well we love you, and then he says I love you too. And he takes that to mean they are in love? Cue up the twilight zone music guys!

I like Yul, glad he found the idol. I rewound the tape to see what the heck Billy was talking about. He is deluded. This time I hope the idol is kept a secret and used not like last season. Everyone knew he had it and then it never got used.
