AMID a morning-after mess of stale cigarettes and empty champagne bottles, the 30-year-old Californian woman answers the door as her 16-year-old lover hastily gets dressed. Slowly zipping up a hooded top to cover a transparent mesh singlet, she invites me into their love nest - a lacklustre holiday flat in Scarborough.
The stench of cigarettes is overpowering; empty alcohol bottles and dirty clothes cover the floor.
A laptop is open on the coffee table, rap music blaring from its speakers.
This cramped and ugly apartment is hardly a vision of romance, but this is the place that James
Barry and Karen Anderson have called home since she arrived from the US to meet a cyber lover half her age.
And it is where they plan to stay.
Ms Anderson takes me through to a tiny bedroom with two bunk beds. ``This is where my daughter is going to sleep,'' she said.
She opens a cupboard to show me a pile of candy-pink clothes she has bought her two-year-old, who she has left in the US with her former husband, reportedly a former drug dealer and addict.
Ms Anderson said she had not spoken to her daughter since she arrived in Perth three weeks ago, but she hoped to bring the toddler to Australia after she sold her house in rural California.

Geez,,,,,,,,,,,
Poorly written title to this: who or what is "WA?"
Sadly ironic that this article is posted to "Foreign Affairs".
Western Australia
WA = Western Australia.
WA is Western Australia.
It is obvious, but only if you live in Australia.
Kinda like we know what PA is in America.

goodness, this is bizarre
According to another article I read, his mother is not happy about this. Shortly after this pedophile arrived to molest this teenager, she and the teen showed up at his mother's house expecting to move in and live there. Mum said "No!"
She does not know it yet, but she is castrating this young man, who is really not much more than her constant plaything.
Wouldn't it be fine if we all had a playbunny plaything? LOL.
Theodore Dalrymple who writes for National Review covers this kind of thing all the time. An MD in a British nut-house and prison he studies these things up close. He has 2 really great books "The Mandarins and the Masses" and "Life at the Bottom" that are just fabulous reads.
My, this whole situation sounds so tasty...
Ever wonder why the happy people are the ones who follow the laws of God, nature, and man (in that order)?
