For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
Rte66 posted this morning that she didn't die but that the parents divorced and that was why John went to live with his grandparents. There was a source cited. I have been asking for awhile now, what did she die from, because the word at first was that she died when he was 12. Your source says she died when John was in second grade, way before age 12, and mentions no divorce...or does it. This is quite confusing...
>>>I guess this explains why his mother raised him as girl until he was 12.>>>
He wasn't 'raised' as a girl, he said he was 'treated like a girl'.
He wasn't with his mother after the age of 6 or so. She died when he was 12.
Yea, it's kinda long. I tried to highlight the key points in my 8 questions post. Thats really the essence of it. If those things are true then there was a lot more going on in that family than the public has been led to believe. Since it was the detectives and pathologists that worked the case, I don't have any reason to doubt their basic facts.
But I'll wait for the DNA thing to sort out before I reach any conclusions.
There could also have been internal contradictions in the case. Things that pointed to the Ramseys, things that pointed away from the Ramseys, things that pointed to a family member or friend, things that pointed to an intruder, and things that pointed to a poor investigation.
And while corresponding with Michael Tracey - the University of Colorado professor whose e-mails led investigators to track him down in Thailand - Karr wrote that his mother "tended to raise [him] as a girl."

I HAVE READ THIS MORE THAN TWICE NOW, from several sources.
He (Karr) used the word "raise" - so I am using the word raised.

Well, like I posted earlier this is completly contrary to what I have heard on Fox, MSNBC and CNN....I just don't know what to believe anymore.....btw Dr Lee, Dr Baden and another Doc whose name I can't recall were on the panel when this was discussed....if Dr Lee disagreed he should have said so then.
>>>Just listen to parts of the rerun of Larry Kings interview with Patsy and John. John states that beside the window being open the police also found a door unlocked/open.
WHy isn't this mentioned in all the "facts" being thrown around?>>>
Because it wouldn't fit with the "I want the parents to be guilty because nobody deserves to be that rich and pretty".
Not to mention if Burke did kill JBR, why not say it was an accident and let it go at that? He couldn't be charged with murder at the age of 9. I hear people say they had the attitude of 'what would the neighbors think', but jeez, there is no more attention than a ransom/murder!
I'm not in front of a tv. What are they saying?
Hmmm?
Maybe now would be a good time to acquire an account at DU and start a thread of "Why are we wasting so much bandwidth on Lamont-Lieberman when Jonbenet Ramsey's killer has been found? - GASP - Or is this another Rovian scheme?"
I think there were probably at least some internal contradictions. Thats what makes this case so bizarre. The evidence seems to point everywhere and nowhere.
But wouldn't the boot print of a 9-year-old be noticeably smaller than the boot print of an adult male, even one as small as Karr?
DId you see the editorial stating that the Ramsey's didn't fit into liberal Boulder and were therefore targeted.
IIRC this is it

It depends on whether or not the print was good enough to make out a size. They haven't released that tid-bit as far as I know.
It was last night or Fri night that they discussed the head wound.....It may have been on Greta's show....I'm in a time warp here...lol
>>>The NYPOST says Karr's mom died in a car accident
http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/from_cradle_to_the_grave_nationalnews_philip_recchia.htm
Their mom, Elaine, had perished in a car crash when John was in second grade. John was 12 when they moved to Hamilton; Mike, 17.>>>
They are incorrect. She did not die from an auto crash.
The ID of the boot, I think!, was made by the HiTech emblem and not too much of the remainder could be made out.
That is one of the sickest comments ever on this forum. Have you no shame? No decency? No common sense?
Everybody knows the real killers only frequent golf courses in the US, not Thailand.
< /sarcasm >
>>>Is this consistant with the information you found yesterday. Did the mother die in an accident after the divorce?>>>
She did not die in a car crash
I think some of the confusion in what we're hearing is partly coming from differences in professional opinions, too. For example, was Jonbenet a victim of chronic sexual abuse? Cyril Wecht says definitely but others say no. We know that someone called 911 three days before the murder from the Ramsey house but never spoke on the phone and hung up. When the police came out they were told all is well.
