Where's the sister?? She may be the notch on the key that will open the door to this dude's lurid history. This goes waaaaaay back.
You know what I'm thinking about that writing in that high school yearbook? This guy was a freak way back than! Seriously whow writes like his style and way with words in high school? He was a weirdo than and now!
Why even leave a note if she's dead? Did this guy write notes to a lot of people in his youth and along the way? He seems to use notes to taunt...as in adding (unlike your loving sister) in the yearbook and "southern background" in the note.
Sounds like not only is Karr a wacko, but this LE is also out after some fame and glory with fantastic stories.
Now he's recanting and vaguely saying he doesnt recall ever meeting the guy in person. If Karr was the murdered, he would have had to have known the dad to know the amount to ask for in the ransom note. Karr's a wacko who's living out his fantasies. That said, I'm waiting for the DNA - which they should have done in Thailand before leaking it all to the media. And when the testing proves inconclusive, this new DA needs to be fired.
I agree. This wasn't planned because everything the killer used or had knowlege of was found within the home or had to have come directly from close personal knowlege of the family.

Get the facts straight. He wasn't some old codger, he was a kid himself. The first marriage, he was 19 and she was a 14 year old who lied about her age. Her parents got the marriage anulled. In his early 20's, he married a second time to a 16 year old and they stayed together for many years and had children. This second one is the one who's been on tv. There is a world of difference between a couple of teens running off to get married and killing a 6 year old.
Except there is also the "I" in upper case which starts the quote. Without the "I" it makes no sense. In other words, SBTC could mean anything from Sailing Beyond The Continent to Sparrows Bite The Corn.
But it sure goes back to his youth and likely has something to do with why he wound up being raised by his grandparents. (Southern Secrets??"
I'm inclined to believe that there was a mysterious death of a little sister "hidden" or something like that, something wierd in the family history....something that may even been unreported.
This is the deep south. When I lived in VA, we were exploring and found an old family gravesite...There were baby graves. I'd go to that family graveyard where Angel and Innocence are buried and do some GPR (Ground penetrating radar) on the site.

Not this again. The LE long ago stated the bear was a prize she had won a couple weeks earlier at a pageant. Now this supposed Christmas picture of a little boy with a bear in the background shows up. Excuse me, but how many kids don't have bears or get them as Christmas presents?
Sorry to be behind the curve of this thread, but when you say "note" are you referencing the ransom note?
One thing I noticed is that the ransom note taunts the Ramseys especially John. Toward the end it says "Don't try to grow a brain, John." In other words, you're too stupid to even bother trying to stop me. You don't have a brain, and it's too late to grow one.
Either he was pretending to be someone who knew and held a grudge against the Ramseys (or whoever wrote the note was), or there was needless taunting in that ransom note that showed one screwed up person.
All teens wish to conqueror the world. The handwriting looks nothing alike.
I am wondering how Tracey got a photograph of Karr when he was boy holding a Teddy Bear like the one JonBenet won at a pageant.
Also I figured out the mystery of Karr being paranoid about Tracey having a photograph of him (Karr). It seems there is a 3rd player (Sandrock) that knows Tracey who ran into Karr in London. It looks like Tracey tried to fool Karr into thinking he had a photograph of him (Karr).
