Profilers and speculators depend on the target case not being the exception to the rule.

I can think of only on child murder case in which an upper/upper middle class professional married couple were even suspects. In fact any married couple with no proven risk factors like alcholism, history of child abuse, history of sex crimes, insurance/monetary motive, divorce, ongoing affair or marital difficulties.

DNA would be nice but not needed in this case.
Assuming he can be placed in Boulder on the night in question or can not be placed elsewhere-
Samples of his hand writing matching (particularly if they pre date the murder)
Knowledge of facts about the case that even the most diligent researcher could not know.

A receipt from a Boulder store for a stungun dated 2 days before the murder with his credit card number might do it.

Do you know where your neighbor keeps paint brushes?
Would you be able to get around your neighbor's house and find any of the items or similar information mentioned in this case? I wouldn't. I can't find stuff in my own house half the time.

He used to be quite handsome. He seems to have lost alot of weight in the past few years being on the lamb.

>>>According to CNN, he's given a lot of bad information too. He said that he picked JonBenet up from school that day, but school was closed for Christmas vacation. He claimed he drugged her and they didn't find drugs in her body. He claims her death was an accident but she died of strangulation. His ex-wife says he was in Georgia at the time of the murder.>>>

It seems some of that information is misinterpretation by Tai police that misunderstand. Instead of saying 'he drugged her', he said 'it was a blur'. Guess it sounded the same to an Asian person.

I believe they're referring to the specific condition of JB's body as a result of the crime, such as would be included in a medical examiner's report. Which I also believe was out on the web a few years back.

THere is something that has been gnawing at me that is an angle that I have to wonder may contain a link between him and the Ramseys.

Karr's resume says that from the late 80's through 1996 he was in the carpentry business and specialized in the restoration of victorian mansions.

The Ramsey's bought thier 15 room home for $500,000 in 1991 and immediately started having work done - to the tune of a $700,000 renovation.

Now, they had just moved from Georgia - is it possible they went through a Georgia firm to hire thier contractors -- a firm that Karr maybe subcontracted to or knew people in. Or since thier renovation was so extensive, maybe it was written up and some point in a architecture/Renovation/Carpentry magazine, maybe even with pictures of the beaming family, including beautiful jonBenet. Now if Karr knew the right people could he have had access to blueprints etc.

Just pure speculation, but something worth wondering about IMO.

>>>he proof for me he did it is when his family can't give any evidence that he was with them on Christmas 96. So far they keep saying they have it, but how long does it take for them to find photos and the media to have them? This would have happend like yesterday. So IMO, if no photos show up, and there is no proof he was with his family at Christmas 96, than he is the guy! Waiting for the proof...>>>

I know this family and they circle the wagons.

Those details were known only to the medical examiner and the investigators probing the December 26, 1996 murder of the six-year-old beauty queen, the law enforcement official said.

Earth to LEO: Those details were also well known to the killer, who has had 10 years to share them with anyone he pleases -- most likely fellow sickos, of which JMK certainly appears to be one. The killer may also have photographed his handiwork, and shown the photos to fellow sickos, enabling a very detailed and accurate description by someone other than the killer. It's not so unlikely that JMK would have connected with the killer, given his obsessive pursuit of other people who were interested in the case -- and killers are often fascinated with media and public reaction to their deeds.

I hope that the bumbling investigators who have been handling this "investigation" have been systematically searching the Internet for photos purported to be of JonBenet during and after her abuse and murder. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if they've skipped that approach, and since normal people who aren't professionally assigned to do such things are careful not to, and sickos who do it for fun tend not to tell anyone, such could well have been out there in the dark recesses of Internet vileness, and missed.

The awful part about that statement is
Karr just may be confusing the M.O. of
different victims he has assaulted.
He has a track record in California
as a sex pervert.
There are so many stories making the
rounds now that it's impossible to tell
whose account is accurate. Again,
we're being subjected to another public
trial run IN the media BY the media.
The Talking Heads are having a field day.
Ex: I heard this a.m. on the radio that
there was NO sperm DNA found anywhere
near JonBonet's body. Some Dork who claimed
to have been on the scene 10 years ago also
added that HE knew the perp had used the
wooden end of a paint brush to abuse her
just to make it LOOK like a sex crime. And
they can't agree whether the child died from
strangulation or from that 8 inch crack in
her forehead.

My anger gets stirred up when I hear all
these cases wherein the child abusers have
the audacity to enter a private residence
and carry the kid out of its own bed! That's
been the method of assault for at least seven
cases now. Parents who warn their young
children against strangers on the street or
at the movie house are completely helpless
against this kind of invasion.

Maybe if you were looking for a 'PAINT BRUSH', but if you were looking for 'SOMETHING' that might be a different story. Who's to say he was looking specifically for a paint brush, but rather found the SOMETHING that helped him.
Plus, the Ramsey's were out at a Christmas party for hours on that night. Plenty of time to ramble around. John Karr is a genius, he could get around an alarm.

Interesting speculation. Did the Ramsey's post a reward for finding the killer? If they did, sooner or later one of the "fellow sickos" would have been inclined to collect, IMO.
BTW, what's LEO?

This is a family in which girls get married before they're old enough to drive. It's hardly surprising that their households are the sort of places where they can't lay their hands on specific photos from 10 years back.

To all your questions: Is is possible (oh, hell, this is the Ramsey case, nothing's impossible!) that he was in the house while they were at the party?

I would be able to find my way around if I had been able to sneak in and out of the house several times without the owners knowledge. Maybe he posed as a delivery person, or whatever, while checking out the home. Maybe he was a waiter at a fancy party.

Maybe he's a crackpot who wants his ten seconds of fame. IMO, he should be locked up for a long time regardless of whether he murdered JonBenet.

CNN STORY UP. Pinging Admin in case they want to put this in the thread header.

Source: Karr knew murder scene secrets

BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- John Mark Karr gave authorities graphic details about the condition of JonBenet Ramsey's body that have been kept secret for nearly a decade, a U.S. law enforcement source told CNN on Friday.

Those details were known only to the medical examiner and the investigators investigating the December 26, 1996 slaying of the 6-year-old beauty pageant competitor, the law enforcement official said.

Meanwhile, Ramsey family attorney Lin Wood told The Associated Press that JonBenet's mother Patsy Ramsey agreed to meet with the man who claimed to be her daughter's killer to help investigators.

But Patsy Ramsey died of ovarian cancer in June before the meeting took place, the AP said.

Karr, 41, said he believed Patsy Ramsey read his correspondence expressing remorse for JonBenet's death before she died.

But Wood told the AP that Patsy Ramsey never received Karr's letters or e-mails because the correspondence was routed to police.

"He thought that he was corresponding with Patsy, but he wasn't," Wood told the news service.

Friday's developments lent further mystery to the high-profile murder case.

Karr was taken into custody Wednesday morning in Bangkok, Thailand, where he had just started a teaching job.

A U.S. warrant called for his arrest on suspicion of first-degree murder, kidnapping and child sexual assault.

He said he loved JonBenet, and killed her by accident.

Despite Karr's startling confession, many questions remain to be answered before authorities can say the case has been solved.

Questions about whereabouts

One of those questions was raised by Karr's former wife, Lara Karr, who says he was with her in Alabama or Georgia during the 1996 Christmas holidays.

JonBenet's body was found in the basement of the Ramsey home in Boulder, Colorado, early on the morning of December 26. Karr told reporters in Bangkok that he was with JonBenet in the basement when she died.

But Lara Karr's attorney, Michael Rains, said his client "sincerely believes there was no Christmas ... anytime between 1989 and 2000 when they were married ... when her husband was not with her and her family at Christmastime."

Evidence from the Colorado crime scene contradicts Karr's version of events. JonBenet's death was violent, investigators found. An autopsy showed she received a massive blow to the head and was strangled with a rope that the killer tightened by twisting an attached paintbrush handle.

Karr has not publicly given details about how he got into the Ramsey house and, if he did so, how he found his away around the maze of rooms, hallways and closets.

Even police overlooked the storage room where JonBenet's body was found during their first search after the girl was reported missing.

Karr's connection to Colorado is also vague. Although his e-mail correspondence with a University of Colorado journalism professor led to his arrest in Thailand, authorities said, they have produced no evidence to show Karr was ever in Colorado.

The Rocky Mountain News published on its Web site Friday excerpts of what investigators say they believe are e-mails between Karr and professor Michael Tracey, including one that read: "JonBenet, my love, my life. I love you and shall forever love you. I pray that you can hear my voice calling out to you from my darkness..."

Another question is Karr's familiarity with the Ramsey family.

Ramseys didn't know Karr

JonBenet's father, John Ramsey, said in an interview Wednesday that he did not know Karr. But a ransom note, found in the Boulder home after JonBenet went missing, addresses John Ramsey in a familiar tone, repeatedly using his first name and calling him a "fat cat."

The ransom note demanded $118,000, the amount he had received in a company bonus before his daughter was killed.

At a news conference Thursday, Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy said the case is still under investigation. "There is much more work that needs to be done now that the suspect is in custody."

"John Karr is presumed innocent," Lacy said. "Do not jump to judgment. Do not speculate. Let the justice system take its course."

The professor who put authorities on the trail of Karr took a similar tack.

"I don't know that he's guilty," Tracey told the AP. "Obviously, I went to the district attorney for a reason, but let him have his day in court and let JonBenet have her day in court and let's see how it plays out."

U.S. and Thai officials are working on clearing Karr's return to the United States, although no date for the transfer has been set.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and Thai authorities worked closely on the case for two months before Karr's arrest on Wednesday, ICE attache Ann Hurst said.

Officials in Bangkok said he had traveled to Thailand -- a country notorious for its child sex trade -- five times in the past two years.

CNN's Susan Candiotti contributed to this report.
