Most likely he has a long history of crimes against children. Yet he has only one previous arrest on five misdemeanor counts of possessing child pornography. (It's a misdemeanor? This was in CA.)
He's one of those slithery ones who fly under the radar, if I may mix my metaphors.
I hope they make some charges stick, maybe the ones in CA, and keep this creep away from kids.
I was reading in the Bangkok newspaper that he was sacked from a school there for "scaring the children". He's been in and out of Thailand four times in 2 years, with a valid US visa. He most recently re-entered from Malaysia.
He's probably been preying on those poor little Tsunami victims.
Sandra Ford, a retired fifth-grade teacher at Kilby School in Florence supervised Karr's internship, says she was concerned by the way he related to female students. Karr's marriages to teen girls also generated talk in the area. Court records show a 14-year-old girl sought an annulment of their "ceremonial marriage" in 1985. She claimed she feared for her life when she agreed to wed him in 1984, when she was just 13 and he was 19. Karr admitted she was a minor, but denied she was 13.
A judge granted the annulment. Karr later married Lara Karr, who was 16 when their twin daughters died the day they were born on September 1st, 1989. The girls, Angel and Innocence Karr, are buried in the cemetery of a rural church in a family plot. Former Sheriff A-C Tice says the twins were born at home. Probate Judge Annette Bozeman says Karr apparently delivered his children
He also had another one in CA that no one in the media has really elaborated on - the one in Santa Rosa, which also got his credentials revoked in that district.
It had to do with controlled substances and minors (a bunch of different possibilities among those addressed in the clause, so I won't speculate).
I'm really wondering if those porn pix weren't of JonBenet, as that was the time when he was so "into" the case so heavily "for his book." That may be why he told his father he was being held in the murder of JonBenet - he was arrested for pix that somehow related to her case.
If he could buy Polly Klaas's death certificate, he certainly might have bought some of that weird hearse-driver's photos of dressed up corpses in Boulder - or, wait, maybe those discarded autopsy photos someone found in the trash behind the photo developers' in Boulder.
They may not be porn, but having them is certainly obscene.
