Maybe he has a terminal disease and wanted to confess because he know he won't live to see conviction. Just a thought. (pure speculation)

Misinformation. The charge was child porn, and it was a California warrant. The Thais held him for extradition to the US, at which time he confessed.

This comment and what the media are reporting are garbage. I listened to the entire press conference. She made it clear that she CAN'T TALK YET ABOUT THE EVIDENCE BECAUSE OF COLORADO'S CODE. They could have 100% DNA evidence on this guy and at this stage can't talk about it.

Exactly. They can't hold this guy just for shits & giggles. The proof will come tomorrow or first thing next week -- if they arraign him and formally charge him with murder, we will know they have what they feel is solid eveidence. If they release him to the Petaluma, CA police without charging him, we will know he is just a nutjob blowing smoke OR that he knows who the killer is and got inside info from that person.

At the press conference they said that he tried to sign up for a job in a school district in Thailand just a few days ago. He hasn't been sitting in a prison in Thailand for any long length of time.

Once some on posts information/misinformation on a thread, it's repeated. Wonder how many FR readers don't follow the thread to conclusion and come away with the impression, he just wanted to get out of some Thai jail...

Adding to my post #24. It still wouldn't mean he did it or not.

"Misinformation. The charge was child porn, and it was a California warrant."

Had not seen that just read the Thai authorities arrested him for a "sex crime". Thanks for the clarifications.

True..let's face it.. there are NO sex crimes in Thailand because practically everything is legal! This guy was staying in an area that was big in the sex trade and child prostitution.

No pun intended, I hope.

Pun was *absolutely* intended.Perhaps I shouldn't have been so graphic, however.

Just about the only thing I'm inclined to believe of all the things he's said is that he was "in love" with the girl.

I have no doubt that he fell in love with her the moment he first saw a photo of her standing 3' 11",wearing a $300 wig and an inch of makeup.

I don't know, but it's kind of amazing how many people "know" stuff that isn't true. Kind of tells you how easy it is for the media and dems to spread a lie (like the "there were no WMDs in Iraq" lie) without anyone being able to correct it.

Can they require him to submit to a DNA test? He may refuse and just say why bother "I'm guilty".

There was a question to the DA regarding the possibility of a false confession and the DA replied something along the lines of, "We really cannot comment on the evidence at this time".

HUH?! Did anyone else catch that?

The guy is fruitcake for sure.

Did you see his resume? I'd say whoever wrote it is no fruitcake, but a shrewd manipulator who knows exactly what he is doing.

I watched the press conference. She went out of her way to say that sometimes they have to arrest people before an investigation warrants it (implying that that is the case here). I should have said "in my opinion, it looks like they have no evidence."

Yup, and I can't count how many people have repeated ad nauseum that he has a good alibi. No, he doesn't. He still may not be the killer, and I have no problem saying that, but the two alibis given (and these are in print) by his ex-wife and brother don't match, so at the very least those two "witnesses" are unreliable. No doubt they'll change their story to one that matches, but to say that he has a good alibi just isn't true.
