Quite frankly I was very nervous about this trip. We decided to finish our West coast trip about 6 months ago, but after the terrorists were trying to blow up airplanes I was not sure. We had to make a decision if it was a go, Thought do I want to die on August 22nd, the fear date, living one hour from NYC or get on American Airlines and go visit San Francisco and Seattle. The fear has left me and I will not let the terrorists confuse me I will go about my plans and Be Damned Terrorists, I Am an American, I am Proud to be an AMERICAN. I will not be living in Fear.

Flying is easy... it's the landing that is the concern :>)

The Redwood Forest is fantastic although I had my beautiful Taylor guitar and a camera stolen while in the park. Bummer.

"VOA, your hurting our tourist industry here. LOL"

Honest, I really am a "see the USA" kind of guy...and I just nod
my head politely when somebody goes over the top about seeing
Old Europe and how it's so much greater than the USA.

But I'm a sucker for those mountains that ring the harbor area of Vancouver.
Seattle has plenty to recommend it...and I was a bit unfair at not including
"the rest of the story".

OK, it's been 10 years since I've been to Seattle and Vancouver
(on the same trip).
Both are wonderful places. I guess I just give a slight edge to Vancouver
because the beauty is almost downtown...just a stroll from the major
downtown area and you're in that mountain-circled bay.

BUT, if you've got a car, Seattle has all the advantages of being on
this side of the border and a quick trip gets you out to that majestic
Mt. Rainier. Mojo114, that's what I should have highly recommended as
part of your Seattle trip.
