FReepmail scott says to be added to, or to be taken off the NFL Ping list...

This is a fairly high volume ping list

The first three NFL pre-season games aren't worth much except as audition matches for the folks on the bubble. It's entertaining to watch a game involving your team, but it's not the real deal by any means.

Actually, it's worse ... like a Pats fan seeing Vinateri kick a 53 yarder for Indy last night. Oh well, good for him, the dome will add a few more years onto his amazing career.

Good question. I should have checked before posting the thread!
I see that the SF/Bears game is on here on the local cbs station.( Northern Cal)
I'll see if I can find that info.

Well last pre-season the Bears looked as pitiful as any pro team I've ever seen. They proceeded to spank every division opponent on their way to winning the NFC Central. I just watch these games mainly to observe the rookies, or how new Off/Def schemes are being implemented. The nationally broadcast game is betwixt the Falcons and Pats, and I'm really looking forward to seeing if this Tom Brady kid can play QB. I have a notion that he compete for spot.

It looks like on the East Coast-
the Giants/Baltimore game is on NBC and the NY Jets/Tampa Bay is on CBS.
At least according to DirecTV.
CBS west coast will have Patriots /Atlanta on .

I'm not sure about that Brady kid...hopefully he can step up and prove himself.
I hope the Patriots aren't destroyed by injuries again.
Bruschi is already out with a broken wrist...here we go again!

I'd like to see Benson in a pro system but I think he's injured again(shoulder?). Seems that the Bears want to push Thomas Jones from the #1 slot even before they can determine what they have in Benson. I've seen him play many games for the Longhorns and wasn't terribly impressed with his abilities. We'll see.

I think the Browns have already lost 2 centers this preseason (one with a knee injury, the other with severe back problems).

Injuries are probably the biggest "challenge"
a team has to deal with. It really messes everything up.
How is your boy Carson doing?

Re: Bruschi- I hate training camp for that reason. You can always count on losing a valuable player for some period of time, sometimes lingering into the season. Someday the pre-season games will be shortened to 3, maybe 4 games, and the regular season extended.

He's been getting more time and practice, but I'd be surprised if he gets any preseason action. Maybe some snaps in the last game to get some real game experience before the season. I believe he will start againt the Chiefs, but that's really up to the doctors. He definately wants to play and he has made incredible progress hitherto.
