6. If nothing ever sticks to Teflon, how do they make Teflon stick to the pan?
A couple weeks back, The Food Network, had a show about this. I think they spray a light coating of a special oil on it, it dries a bit, then comes the teflon...
A machinist friend of mine was telling me about how they needed to get some teflon parts engraved. Their normal engraver couldn't do it because apparently Teflon is toxic when heated and the engraver didn't have the appropriate devices to handle it properly.
My question is, if Teflon is toxic when heated, why do they put all over stuff that you COOK in! (I knew there was a reason to not use that stuff).
