CHICAGO -- Lowe's has put its plans for two home-improvement centers in Chicago on hold in the wake of the city's new big-box minimum-wage ordinance, following similar steps taken by Wal-Mart and Target, a developer and alderman said.
David Katz of Northbrook-based A&R Management Inc., which manages a shopping center where one of the Lowe's stores was to open, confirmed on Tuesday that officials at the Mooresville, N.C.-based company have postponed signing a lease.
Fortunately the courts ruled against it here. Maybe the same will happen in Chicago.
Is it any wonder that they believe that the Bill of Rights can be changed by any vote? Generation after generation...
Businesses should get together and announce they won't build inside Chicago city limits and build right outside it.
Lowe's Shrugged.
Losers.. unemployed workers, the poor (in lower prices), the companies, contractors, minorities, women and children.
Winners... Unions, politicians, and developers.
Ahh yes... Democrats, the party that cares /sarc
Just another example of the sheer stupidity of liberals and labor unions. I love the arrogance of these "elected officials" in Chicago; they think they can just set "living" wages for people. Unbelievable.
Well, I live in Chicago - where's my "living" wage? I need $500K a year to live my lifestyle. I want it now!
