"...bullets zinged past..."

IIRC, they just pop, since they're not contained in a barrel and ignited with the firing cap to propell them. Anyone else want to comment on this? I could be wrong...

I caught that, too. But didn't the Mythbusters take this one on? Yeah, they did... with the bullet in the fuse holder myth... and they found that although some did just burst a couple propelled the bullet with a much lower velocity than normal but fast enough to hurt... so it might be possible.

Actually - the bullet and the case tend to go in opposite directions.... Both can fly, although the case is often more likely to go farther than the bullet. But it is quite possible that the cases were "zinging" past them...
