On August 4th, we found out that Lenovo Group, the company that has taken over IBM's Personal Computing Division, had made a deal with Novell Inc. to preload SLED 10 (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop) on its ThinkPad T60p mobile workstation.
For the first time, a major OEM (original equipment manufacturer) has committed to preloading a Linux desktop.

Well, when you use Windows, you sacrifice something alright...you sacrifice your security.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Out of all that he said, that was all that you could bring yourself to reply to, that was the line that was easiest to twist into your own little world view...........
You need to stop reading the NY Times and looking at forged pics from Reuters.
Try addressing reality for a change.
AMAZING! You've already forgotten what you typed at post 19.
Wow! What a coincedence. Mine too!!!!!
You write that ignoring the negative effects I stated.
Your twisted view is no different than voting Democrat in an attempt to send Republicans a message. Will it make a difference, who knows, but without question you're aiding others who would like to see Republicans stamped out, or in this case, foreigners who would like to completely destroy the U.S. economy. And in your view that would be just fine, since you're completely happy buying stuff from outside the U.S., so long as it suits your shortsided selfish personal needs.
Sort of like how we dominate in ERP solutions? I believe SAP (the third largest software company in the world, behind MS and Oracle) dominates that market. Microsoft is trying to get in this market with Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Microsoft Business Solutions).
On the average we make the best software. But blanket statements don't work.
This doesn't look very safe to me either, then.

...And apparently in the case of some here, your sanity as well.
How quickly you forget.
E.Pluribus Unum said: Why not root for the best product?
Then you said: Because I'm willing to sacrifice for my country, something you obviously have no understanding of.
It's pretty obvious that you have some twisted idea that dealing with worms, viruses, spyware and other assorted malware is your patriotic duty.
Thanks, but I'd rather be productive with my computer. Rather than spending your entire time on FreeRepublic shilling for Microsoft, why not post about something that might actually tell us about your patriotism and support of the U.S. Constitution.
I'd be really interested in hearing your interpretation of the 2nd Amendment to the aformentioned document.
No, I simply buy the best products at the best price. Welcome to capitalism.
However, I do not buy from certain manufacturers because of things they've specifically done to piss me off. That's also capitalism, telling the company that the buyer wants it to change in order to get sales. But a foreign company can't exactly change the fact that it's a foreign company.
BTW, how far does your Buy USA go? Do you research how much of your cars come from outside the US? A Toyota Sienna is more American than a Mustang, except for the nationality of the company that produces it.
Me too. The right to own a shotgun is an imperative when your Windows box pisses you off one too many times.
LOL. Thank G-d I don't have to deal with that kind of frustration.
Even Harleys burn rice. What is the world coming to?
Yup. My old 1995 Honda Shadow ACE was more American than any Harley on the market. All of its parts were made in the USA.
That burst my bubble.
FreeBSD and Solaris aren't safe enough for you? They're American, and I specifically mentioned them already in this thread. I'm posting this from a Palm O/S right this minute, so your support of foreign fakes like Suse on Chicom laptops are for you to explain, not me.
