On what boards can you hear these rumors? Certainly not CTV whre the thread is still locked.
I'm wondering if this is old news because we've been hearing about these rumors for weeks. I remember when Sean Hannity hinted at some earth shaking rumor to Susan Filan. Plus the defense attorneys have more than once hinted that they know more about Crystal than they've shared with the public.
Not for long. It's locked now.
Hopefully, all the users have figured out the CTV board is not needed. Why bother with all the insults from Coldwater? Talk left has a much better debate.

LOL! I thought about it and forgot about them.
Somewhere in the abc11 board someone asked why didn't the attorneys give the information to the local papers instead of one in Wilmington.
I thought it was for 1 of 2 reasons:
1. Defense is sick of local media
2. Local media turned it down.
I am wondering what could be more devastating for av than what we already know.
PBR, the FA is complicit in this farce to be sure. But the real criminals are local LE and the DA who used her accusation for political purposes.
If I were omnipotent here, Nifong would spend much more time in jail than Crystial Mangum...

If there is anything at all to this rumor, then my first thought would be a Jesse Jackson connection. He's already made a public offer to pay for her education, and I never thought he was too keen to push this case anyway. Also, JJ would certainly have the means to back such an offer.
I agree with the posters who said no firm offer was actually made, but I find it plausible that such a figure was put out there and discussed. I'm not sure that Jakki just made up the entire thing out of whole-cloth.
I am a good distance, but I think this may be worth a drive over to Durham. I need to up my life insurance first, however. You might think I am joking, but I am serious.
I think there may have been about a million guys who may have offered her two bucks, however! LOL!

That's how I read it.
Cash wrote a long, hard to follow article but here's what I get as his main points:
1. His main purpose was to defend Jakki and her claim.
2. In order to defend Jakki, he attacks Gottlieb's credibility. He does this by a) bringing up his alleged involvement in the attack on the Black cook; and b) writing several paragraphs at the end which basically cite defense objections to the investigation.
IOW, I got that he was putting the burden on the Durham investigators to answer the defense's points. It's not something we're used to seeing in the black or mainstream press.
