AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2019) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | August 2, 2006 | All of Us

Posted on 08/02/2006 4:08:54 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Israel has moved around 10,000 troops into Lebanon. In Lebanon, Israel raided a hospital in a Hezbollah-controlled area and captured several guerrillas hiding there.

Toyota overtook Ford in monthly sales last month.

And it reached only 98F in Washington yesterday; 101F, with a heat index of 114F, forecast today.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Thanks, Peach. I missed most of the briefing because of tunder and lightning and the need to get the horses in the barn. I'm wet, but it actually feels refeshing.

What a storm! It dropped the temp by almost 15 degrees. It's now 76 degrees.

15 degrees!! Glad you and the horses are okay.

Well, it looks like we don't need a new hot water heater, thankfully. The plumbers were just here and fixed what was wrong.

Oh that's good news. Is it electric or gas?

It's a gas hot water heater and they said that when it's this hot, the thermostat doesn't think it has to heat the water and so it doesn't really heat the water.

If they aren't right, they'll come back, but for now, they just turned up the thermostat.

That sounds like some storm you had; did the horses get scared?

Not really. They are pretty confident that they are in good hands. We treat them like dogs or cats.

I would love one of the heat the water as you use it items (hot water on demand), but I'm afraid it would never pay for itself.

LOL. Well, good. We used to have a collie that freaked out every time we had a thunderstorm and he jumped through the plate glass window in the living room.

He eventually went nuts and bit me repeatedly while I was on a swing; I was 13 and my parents weren't home. If a neighbor had not come over with a shovel and beat him off me, he'd have killed me.

We have some friends who have those hot water on demand things; quite expensive to run, as you can imagine. I don't mind waiting about 15 seconds, depending on which side of the house we're in, for the water to heat up.

The new thing now is heating tile floors. Yikes!

Yes, radiant floors. Toasty, but $$$.

You actually have a recipe for cabbage coffee cake. I'd like to see it, when you have the time.

Carolinamom, ugh, okra....I know it's a southern delicacy, when I'm in it's neighborhood, my teeth clamp shut.

lysie, don't feel too bad about losing stuff. I bought a small radio and put it somewhere, I found it a year later, right in sight, I took it to the garage so I could hear Rush and Hannity, well, guess what????????

Test came in loud and clear. Make that cornbread in a sizzling cast iron pan, with 1/4 stick butter, turning brown, pop in the oven. Serve it with beans and beer and an icy cold Merlot. Wonderful. The beer's for Roomey.

As an appetizer, okra and a bit of sausage in the pop-in-your-mouth muffin?

You are so right. I would listen to that Pali woman after someone blew themselves up in a Pizza parlor, and she would lie like a rug. That is their MO, always has been. It doesn't matter if it war or peace, they lie.

Take it easy johnny, FReep. Roomey is fixing my martini, he just came up from the basement where he works out. The stuff is too big for me, I can reach only a couple of the things, so I just lift my weights and walk.

On our way back from CO we stayed a night at Cannon AFB, NM. It was very nice and comfortable. But boy!!!! has the AF changed. The shopette was almost like shopping in a supermarket!! There was a Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Burger King. This is NOT the Air Force I served in. We were really antiquated. I'd love serving in this Air Force
but they won't take senior citizens. And the Majors and Sgts look like children, when I was in the AF they looked like they had one foot on a banana peel and the other.....
