When asked for comment, Michael Eisner the president of Disney Studios said "What??? What is it about these guys who say that Jews run Hollywood?!@?!?"

Our reporter then contacted the head of ABC Entertainment, Mr. Stuart Bloomberg who said "I don't know where he gets these crazy ideas...it must be the booze!"

Other media magnates were contacted for comment. Mr Gerald Levin, CEO of Time-Warner said "I never heard such claptrap!!! Jews running Hollywood -Schmollywood!!!"

Peter Guber, CEO of Columbia Pictures said "That man will never work in this city again for putting out such filthy anti-media-mogul lies!!!"

The list goes on...

Not sure how Mel can be a devotee of Jesus when he told us we should love everyone.

"Are they trying to imply that people who hold strong conservative Catholic religious and political views are all Jew-haters?"

That's the MSM's attempt to paint them all as not only Jew-haters, but bad people overall.

What really stinks here is that if Gibson were a liberal Democrat from a liberal church (or an atheist), he'd be getting no heat at all; if anything, he'd be loved by his Hollywood cohorts. Liberals that hate Jews are seen as intellectually honest people with a valid viewpoint (especially if they tie that hatred to Israel). There are so many Jew haters in the Left it's pathetic (and in Hollywood), but you'll never, ever see the MSM go near them.

I'm a lifetime practicing Catholic.
Frankly, I don't understand anti-semetism.

Are they trying to imply that people who hold strong conservative Catholic religious and political views are all Jew-haters?

Yes, that is exactly the implication. This is the same manner in which media treats stories of abuse by the military, painting the whole as sadistic killers based on rumored actions of a few. Since Mel Gibson is not one of their usual Hollyweirdo darlings they are so happy to point out that he is human and thus subject to errors and lapses like all the rest of us. Meanwhile, the rest of Hollywood continues their hedonistic ways totally ignored or condoned by the media.

First of all...how is he any different from the Dixie Chicks who they ALL protected

There is a big difference between hating a person and their politics and a whole race

because some people believe Jews hate Jesus and are responsible for his death on the cross, rather than realizing that Jesus offered Himself on the cross for all of our sins and that includes the Jews.

isn't that the truth. Last time I got drunk I was with my husband at a party and I acted like a fool as most other's there did as well. It is like some people don't remember the last time they got drunk and the rediculous things they said and did.

The actor, who holds strong conservative Catholic religious and political views

How is this relevant to the story? Are they trying to imply that people who hold strong conservative Catholic religious and political views are all Jew-haters?

It sounds that way, doesn't it? Not to say they don't exist because I'm sure they come from all backgrounds, but I have never met an antisemitic Catholic before. It's irresponsible of the press to imply causation.

Ok help me understand this. Gibson was producing a series about the Holocaust, which if he truly was a holocaust-denier wouldn't be doing, but ABC pulls it, because of anti-Jewish remarks.

Wouldn't it seem that such a project would only help Mel perhaps to overcome some of the anti-Jewish feelings he may hold?

Well, yeah.

I watched a few irritating minutes of the History Channel on the "antichrist" a day or two ago. Apparently all Chrisitans are something called "dispensationalists"--a whole new term invented by people who did not, I guess, grow up hearing about Premillienialism.

You can say anything you want about Christians and whatever you want to think they believe on TV, but you have to have a special approved franchise to talk about the Holocaust.

So be it. It might have been a good thing for Jews and Christians, that series. But now we'll never know. But we do know other things.

Don't Catholics realize that Christ and Mary are both jewish? Wherefore the hatred?

I don't understand why anybody hates anybody collectively, whether or not they know them.

Some previous generations were raised with the "Jews killed Jesus" message.

Of course they do. Can't have a person uttering a slur and than geniuinely apologizing for it. Not like the Clintons who do the worst things and never apologize for anything.

I think what really happened was that Gibson touched the third rail.If he was besmirching the Catholic Church or the Pope the media would be playing it up as free speech. He went on a rant about Jews .Like it or not Jews and Blacks are portrayed at all times as victims and the rest of us can be spoken about anyway someone wants. Is it right? I have no idea but that is how it is in todays America.

Do you really think that Mel Gibson should be working on a movie about the Holocaust after his lovely remarks? Apparently, he doesn't have the sensitivity necessary to tackle such a weighty subject.

Because the Catholic Church in America has a fairly strong history of tolerance, while the Catholic Church in Europe unfortunately has a history of intolerance which it has only begun to come to terms with during the past half century.
