Re your link to Nifong breaking his silence article in the H-S:
It took a lot of courage for Nifong to make that statement in the wake of continuing condemnation about his handling of the case.
Why do I have trouble with considering Nifong "courageous"? Isn't there a "gag" order?
So we were told...
abb, thanks for those good links. :>
AHA!! Found it!! From way back on April 11, 2006. Like I said, this is so old it's got dinosaur crap on it...

"They also found no DNA on the woman's clothing or belongings, players' attorneys said. The tests found DNA matches to two players, from a towel outside the bathroom and on another object, Cheshire said.
One sample was from a player's semen and another was a different type of DNA, Cheshire said. He said that was to be expected in a bathroom shared by the three men who lived in the house."
Shocking!!! /sarc.
The N-H omitted that NCCU law professor, Irving Joyner, IS MONITORING THE CASE FOR THE NAACP!
http://www.dailyrecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060419/UPDATES01/604190352
The faculty is involved, too. Irving Joyner, an N.C. Central law professor, is monitoring the case as requested by the state chapter of the NAACP.
"It was important that arrests were made and more that it was explained why (additional) arrests weren't made," said Joyner, who teaches criminal law, civil rights and race and the law. The police report described the alleged victim as saying she was raped by three men.
"I don't think people were necessarily pushing for arrests but were pushing for some show that there is concern."
Joyner was in touch with state NAACP leaders. "My assessment," he said, "was that things are moving forward. We're now on track. And we'll just have to wait and see what happens next."
anyone have a link to the Durham HeraldSun of April 11, 2006? I need it badly.
Now, that's a good catch! And typical of the Media.
Read Barry Saunders piece in the N&O and you can feel the hate and venom he has for these rich, white, wealthy and whatever else he calls them.
If that piece by Saunders doesn't tell you why no one has asked about the Bald man or reported on Kim Roberts endless delays in secret proceedings - then nothing will.
It says it all. They loathe these guys.
Any particular article?
From my experience, many of the old Herald-Sun links are no good and have expired. Good Luck.
In retrospect, they should have all been saved.
I found it. One of the freerepublic threads had posted the whole article. I was trying to show even they reported this beore. the HS didn't mention it in their article...
Good. I hate those old Herald Sun links, they've caused me anxst in the past.
I think the articles should be copied into threads in their entirety, because sometimes they are updated and/or age out in the case of the Durham Herald.
These are old archived articles from the NCCU forum. They go by date and are from various news sources. The Herald-Sun article from April 11 is post #4598
Durham: Did you get jilted?

Just sent this out...
Mr. Stevenson,
The information you "broke" in this story is not new. It was first disclosed in Joe Cheshire's news conference of April 10, 2006.
http://www.newsobserver.com/1185/story/427550.html
"They also found no DNA on the woman's clothing or belongings, players' attorneys said. The tests found DNA matches to two players, from a towel outside the bathroom and on another object, Cheshire said.
One sample was from a player's semen and another was a different type of DNA, Cheshire said. He said that was to be expected in a bathroom shared by the three men who lived in the house."
Nowhere in your story did you say that this information has been reported before, let alone disclosed by the defense team.
This is fraudulent reporting. You and your editors are being continually monitored to expose such journalistic fraud.
Great letter!
I know am repeating myself ...
The H-S implied Joyner's opinion was impartial. NOT, he's aiding the NAACP.
Yes. When/if he emails me back, I'll use that one on redirect...
Writer Barry Saunders has some prejudicial issues, I'd say.
"three poor, wealthy Duke students"
"blue bloods"
"Blue Devil 3"
"rich kids"
Excellent!
Nifong's experience hasn't helped Durham...
"Nifong was correct in his statement that the governor should not appoint the Durham DA. He is living testimony to that."
Too right!!!
Look who's joined us! The famous jmoo of the CTV boards fame. Like Mike Nifong (the poster -- not the DA), jmoo has put reporters to shame by showing them how it's done. jmoo went to the courthouse and got the 17-page motion to get rid of that quasi-gag order. She also got the gag order and she quizzed Osborn and chatted with Victoria Peterson.
Welcome, jmoo. We're a far cry from CTV.
