So what this really means is that MEL can't use the alcohol as his excuse! He really believes those terrible remarks. Right?
At least the dude apologized for them and that is more than most "fake people" do!
Weren't you ever in the Infantry or Marines? Weekends at the EM club definitely teach you about the phenomenon.
....true....however....if Mel's alcoholism is more advanced and he has hid it...he may be in the stages where it does not take as much booze to be falling down drunk....soon the liver can't handle it and they get drunk on less and less
How about this. Let him take the fall for the DUI from the courts and let him take the fall for the remarks from the market for his movies. I am sick that he made the statements but it is also sick to enjoy the fact that he did.
Neither you nor I were there so we don't know all of the circumstances, but you seem bent on believing that the words he spewed couldn't possibly have come out simply because of his intoxication. From the posts I've read, it *almost* sounds like you hope it wasn't the alcohol talking. Perhaps he really was messed up to the point where he said things he didn't believe..things he'd heard in the past from his father that he doesn't agree with or whatever. Of course, if that turns out to be the case it would take a little of the wind out of your "Mel Gibson's a Jew-hater" sails so I doubt you're allowing yourself to even consider that scenario.
