Since so many here want so much to forgive Mel Gibson for his anti-semetic tirade and beligerent behavior towards law enforcement I was trying to come up with the best punishment. I think I got it. Besides the obligatory fine, I think the Judge should sentence him to 500 hours community service at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. What do you all think his sentence should be?
No, not really. Gibson's mea culpa does no such thing. Obviously, he's embarrassed that he's fallen off the alcoholic wagon and acted like a fool and apologized. Everything else is circumspect.
The same folks would have persecuted you if they could have gotten their hands on you ~ since, as it turns out, your own vision of reality and truth is pretty much the same as the Jews in those days.
After the destruction of the Temple, most persecution arose out of the fact that the tribe of Judah no longer had a warrior caste, and other tribes within Israel had been taken captive and scattered ~ they didn't have a warrior caste either. Still, just as "things" seemed to be improving in the 20th century, socialism came along and its followers decided to kill Jews believing (rightly or wrongly) that Jews were the very emblem of capitalism.
That's probably why socialists want to destroy America as well.
Frankly, right now I can't think of a single enemy the Jews have who isn't also an enemy to America, and if 100% of all the Jews on Earth were to disappear in a twinkling, the hatred of those other people for America will not diminish in the least.
They used to say of the French that they'd persecuted and expelled the Jews back in the 15th century only to recreate them in the body of the Huguenots, who they persecuted with equal vigor.
It may be our destiny to play the role played by the Jews should we ever let down our military guard a second. Then you can find out the "whys" of persecution.
Thanks for that information.
Here's a little bit of history on persecution of the Jews.
