Panelist Webster Tarpley makes the claim in his book, 9/11 Synthetic Terror, that 9/11 was a coup d'etat by a financier elite to force George W. Bush into a "war of civilizations."

The panel agreed that this invisible government war party goes back perhaps to the 1846 Mexican war, certainly to the USS Maine and the Spanish American War of 1898, and has arranged more and more frequent "false-flag" provocations since the Gulf of Tonkin and the Israel/Palestine crisis.

They also accused this "string-pulling elite" of using terror to restrict traditional constitutional freedoms.

Conspiracy theories thrive after Wellstone plane crash

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- When federal investigators released a report last month about the plane crash that killed Sen. Paul Wellstone, some members of Congress hoped it would dispel talk that his plane was sabotaged.

It didn't.

In Internet chat groups, political Web sites and the published reports of several leftist academics, conspiracy theories about Wellstone's death last October maintain a life of their own, particularly in northern Minnesota.

In one nasty exchange, a retired prosecutor from Duluth has threatened to take legal action against a University of Minnesota-Duluth philosophy professor who espouses the belief that the Bush White House had a hand in Wellstone's demise.

The former prosecutor, Thomas Bieter, alleges that the professor, Kennedy-assassination theorist James Fetzer, has committed "criminal defamation" by publishing articles suggesting a government coverup of the crash investigation.

Al-Qaeda is a real terrorist organization it declared war on the west in about 1987. There was no sinister plan spanning 24 years by people inside the Government. It especially did not include future politicians. A conspiracy with thousands of members inside the Government that has been kept secret is pretty much impossible.

Nobody in this conspiracy is going to voluntarily kill themselves for government empowerment.

John Kerry and McCain were in Vietnam too and they aren't trustworthy either.

Conspiracy theories can be interesting and entertaining but they hardly ever realistic.

So, in closing Mr. Lirium, or Dee if I can call you that, these people are truly insane if they believe this rubbish.

Says it took him half a minute to figure out who did 911. first it had to be a major world power. since it happened in the US with air defense standing down for over an hour, it had to be a force within the US. His background is in intelligence so that's how he came to the conclusion faster than our scientist panelist.

LOL. Arabs have been hijacking planes for decades, but now we have to pretend its not possible in the US? The people on those first planes didn't fight because they probably thought they would go to Cuba and be ransomed.

Air defense?? Nobody knew there was a problem until AFTER it happened. It would have been impossible to get a shoot down order before it happened.
