There is no good reason to own a pit bull.
God rest her soul.
What a horrible way to die. Prayers for the family and kill the dogs.
The owner needs a jail sentence.
Tranquilized? Fine, Tranquilize the **** with a .44 Magnum, or a shotgun. And now, drag the owner to the garden and make him/her put hands in the blood, then charge them with negligent homicide, endangering a community, and every other thing that may apply.
How long before a pit bull owner chimes in here to say the dog was abused or trained to be this way?
I hate those dogs.
Another mere coincidence involving a pit bull.
Equally obvious is the statistics from the various sites that put dog bites requiring emergency romm treatment anywwhere from 430,000 a year to 800,000 a year are just wrong. No ones precious wecious wittle doggie woggies ever bite anyone.
When pit bulls are banned, only criminals will have pit bulls.
Banning dogs doesn't work. The owner needs to serve hard time for homicide becasue that owner is responsible for the actions of those animals. My heart goes out to the family of Jimmie.
I appreciated the last dog attack story in our local paper. They put up a graphic showing that in the past 20+ years, only one of the 15 or so attacks involved a pit bull. They're just the ones that are guaranteed to make the wire services.
You know, our neighbor has a beautiful BIG doberman....he's very friendly, but the dog just intimidates the HE-*-* out of me....his head and snout are bigger than my head...once in a great while I'll go over and talk to him...very respectfully....and then back away slowly into the house.....
Do a search with pitbulls as the keyword and there are many articles about this vicious breed.

Here are two articles about a pitbull attack that happened not far from here last year. A 76 year old woman was mauled to death in her yard.

This is the dog, still with the tranquilizer dart in its hip.
News update: "UPDATE: Police are now saying they aren't sure about the breed of the dog. "
There's a video showing them bring a tranquilized dog out to the AC vehicle. It appears to be a boxer mix. Pit bulls do not have such short noses and drop ears. Perhaps we ban boxers now?
This is terrible. And not the first case. We had a similar case not far from us.
