I've posted this "joke" here before. The "ATC" designation is incorrect. A major airport will have distinct Air Traffic Control Designations. The Control tower, Approach/Departure Control and the Enroute Control for giving directions when an aircraft is departing or approaching. At a remote location the control tower will perform all three fuctions and at small airports without a control tower the pilot must use published procedures for non-controlled airspace.

Airport runways are dsignated by their compass headings. DFW has two parallel runways that run north south and one runway that runs NW to SE. there is no runway 27!!!

Otherwise this is a very OLD joke. I learned it at Air Force Comm School 40 years ago when we were taught Air Traffic Control! We were told that it derived from a conversation that Wilbur and Orville had at Kill Devil Hills!
