UT won the national title because Chris Simms graduated. Brown loved Simms, despite continued proof that he looked great in most games, which the Horns would have won, anyway, but froze up and made critical mistakes in big games. Vince Young may have faults as a quarterback, but he looked as relaxed in the big games as he did the small ones. Colt McCoy is the redshirt, and played 2A (schools under approximately 400 total students) in Texas. Big question if he can step up to NCAA Div 1 competition.
SoCal is an excellent school, and will continue to compete. BTW, kudos to Texas and Ohio State for once again playing each other early. Few schools are willing to risk it against a non-conference rated opponent that early in the season.
My big questions:
Which team will lead in felony convictions?
Will Oregon get penalized for unsportsmanlike uniforms?
Will Auburn continue to have a cap of one athlete per sociology instructor?
Will Southern Cal continue to be the only professional football team in Los Angeles?
Has Oregon gone any of the past 5-6 seasons without a uni change???
I think (Hope) Nebraska will be top 10 material this year...we'll know after the USC game...GO BIG RED!!!!
after Nov 4, Notre Dame will not be undefeated!!!
Since when does Texas throw the ball?
Adrian Peterson (OU RB) played at a 3A school in Texas (Palestine). He's doing OK at the college level.
UT definately lost a lot of their big guns, but I am of the mind that they should be #1 until someone beats them. But then I don't understand the rankings system in the least.
