as a Longhorn, I totally agree with you. many of my fellow students at UT were calling for Mack Brown's head after he'd turned the program completely around and had a 12-1 season. someone even started a website www.firemackbrown.com. not sure if its still up...ha! anyway, HOOK EM HORNS!

A lot of people never forgave Brown for starting Chris Simms over Major Applewhite. Applewhite owned 48 team records and beat OU twice. A lot of people thought Simms never actually earned the starting job over Applewhite, but was awarded the job because he was Phil Simms son.

I thought Applewhite was a better QB, myself. Anyway, MAYBE the national title will get them to quit calling for his scalp (for a little while, anyway).
