liberal style attacks on the South and it's heritage.
Ah. So only "liberals" attack the institution of slavery.
Spoken like a true liberal anti-southern bigot. The South was and is a little bit more than just slavery and plantations. If I recall correctly, Maryland was a slave state until November of 1864.
By the way, I've have considered for years Sherman's March to the Sea to be a border line war crime. Mind you, this opinion is coming from a Northern man. I've seen the photos of the condition of Atlanta after the Union Army was through with it. Hiroshima looked like it was in better condition that Atlanta did. So, why don't you quit making fun of it?

(One Wellstone memorial (rave party) is enough, thank you!)

Gee, ya think? Look objectively at Sherman's tactics, and compare the modern liberal reaction (overreaction) to Abu Ghraib, or to Israel's actions in Lebanon today.

Let me guess: you also have a problem with Israel's "disproportionate response?"
Wars should be fought to be *won.* Sherman fought to win. He proved to be a better warrior that many of those vaunted Southern Generals.
And the question remains: how many died in the burning of Atlanta?
