So stats like batting .400 or hitting 714 or 756 home runs don't matter to you? Or playing in 2632 consecutive games? Or throwing back to back no-hitters? None of that matters?

The problem is that many of the official stats that MLB produces (like the save and the old GWRBI) are not particularly useful, and many of the most useful stats(like runs created) have to be calculated - sometimes tediously - from the stats that are officially provided.

stats is one thing, but when it gets to the point where the announcers are saying things like, "this switch hitter has a .500 average, batting left handed, against right hand relief pitchers, in the 7th inning, at home, with 2 bases occupied, and at least a 4 run lead, after the all star break..." then its friggin' ridiculous.
