My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

"My CPAP mask kept slipping last night and I couldn't breathe. I finally awoke feeling anxious and have been having a tough time shaking it. I think it's partly due to the humidity as my inhalers seem to be helping. It's going to be a slow day."
There is a new mask out that is a deligh to use, I have one and its called the CPAP Pro, check with you medical supply house. No strap over the head, no mask across the face, and comfortable!

1.) The stories about Taiwan are interesting because:
_X_ It's a very different culture
_X Their psychology is crazy, and I love hearing about it
___ It's educational to learn about the Chinese today
_X_ I like the business stories
___ I skipped the long posts because I'm not interested
___ The stories are not interesting at all, I only read them because I'm the most polite woman in the world
___ Other: _________________________________________
2.) If I were to see these stories in book form, I think it would be best if the book were:
___ A simple fireside chat about traveling experiences
___ A detailed analysis of life in Asia/Taiwan
_X_ A philosophical work about the inner machinery that makes Asian societies function, and how that contrasts with Western societies
_X_ A rip roaring, knee slapping comedy-based-on-experience that is ultimately written to be darn funny
___ Other:_______________________________________________
3.) If I saw a book about the current culture and social realities of a Chinese society in Asia today, I would want it to be filled with:
___ tips for doing business in Asia/China
_X_ insights for what thinking must be like in Mainland China
_X_ warnings on mistakes that are easy to make
_X_ "insider" tidbits that are hard to come by
_X_ long stories which really portray the character of the place
___ one single narrative that I could get lost in and feel as though I went on the trip, and met the people myself
___ Other:______________________________________________

Pathos and Patience
In the silence of the mind
I remember, how I remember
as the images parade by
and the tears fall so unkind
A hundred years of stark December
and at the end still will pain I find
for forever to a heart does it bind
and Ill remember, until the day I die

Bound Hearts
Laced together by love and pain
the lacing forever tight
leather stretching across the years
of pain and strife
ain't no mountain tall enough
to separate the bond or
shatter the lacing
Stronger, stronger it grows
despite the miles, the tears,
the longing, the crying,
Walking the floor over you
dreaming my dreams of you
and seeing your face the last image
I see at night and the first I see when I wake.
Set in an ancient book of pairs
paired forever on an emotional plane
in a another place in time.

took a bit to get used too, but it works, and no %%$$##@@ smothering mask effect. Some medical houses will let you try one to see if its the thing for you.

Garden of Dreams
As evening settles across the garden
and the moon dresses this quiet place
I take time to study your gentle face
as entranced as Ive always been
Here among the gentle whispering night
we have some time to find that moment
when passions freed, allowed to vent
fuel the moments to come till dawns light

Ah, Chanson D'Amour, excellent selection!
Well I feel one million and ten percent better now! My trip to the capital was, well, it was capital! It was like a hypnotist snapped his fingers and I suddenly awoke! I guess I was getting cabin fever in this little town, paying way too much attention to the slightest moves of silly people, much to their excitement, no doubt!
But in the capital it was lovely, there's a huge park, like 4 or 5 square blocks large, very nice. Huge pond, lot's of trees. I always walk through it and eat at the McDonald's on the other side.
Then there's a lovely brick paved shop-lined showcase street near the train station which is fun to stroll down and sit and drink one of the many kinds of tea they drink here (red tea, green tea, milk tea, papaya milk tea, etc. etc.)
Walking through the underpass takes you to the back of the train station where there is a very large 11 story modern (air conditioned!) shopping mall, with a super market, Internet cafe, cinema, and of course, Starbucks (plus a local coffee shop chain on the other side that's not too bad).
Needless to say you can easily wile away the hours doing all this, with a good sized crowd milling about with you the entire time.
Really dwarfs the small town sycophants who are (by the time you're in the capital) a good two hour drive away anyway! Easy to forget them, hard to remember them.
And I saw Superman Returns. It was a good show. Kind of serious. The characters were not overly compelling, but none of them ruined the movie either. The special effects were the best I've ever seen. Absolutely top of the line. At one point Superman is contending with a plummeting jet full of people as it speeds towards the earth burning and splitting apart. It looked so real! I was twisting and turning in my seat!
All in all, a darn good show. Then I had a beer or two at a Thai restaurant I know down town (even though I don't drink anymore (wink wink!)). Then caught the bus home. To top off the great day, the bus was literally brand new. It even had that new car smell. The seats were better than the furniture in my apartment! Very pleasant two hour trip to top off a full day of being back in the real world.
Spending what little time remains here seems just like a meaningless formality, which is just how I'd love it to be!
I've packed up too, so I just have to grab two bags then walk out the door! Just say "when"! ;-)

He won't be on the fireline itself, but yes, it's still a bit scary...and he'll be dealing with lots of nervous people, watching and waiting...
