The Days of Wine and Roses was an incredibly made film and illustrated the path of destruction an alcoholic often chooses.Jack Lemmon's finest work. That was a great film.Even better,IMO,was the version that was shown on live TV (a "Playhouse 90" kind of thing) back in the late 50's.Piper Laurie played the wife (*very* well,IMO) and Cliff Robertson played the husband...also very well. The same guy who played her father in the movie played that role in the original TV presentation.

Those were great. Nick Charles, in a speakeasy, drains his glass in one swallow, and says....."Ah, Scotch!.....probably."
To: annalex
Oh, he drank lots of Pinot Noir - it's Merlot he disdained.
"Miles, did you drink and dial again?"

There are so many great lines in the movie, but so few that actually deal with drinking, plus most aren't FR safe.

"Harvey" and "The Philadelphia Story," as well. Not the same kind of movie as, say, "Animal House"...soooo much better!

10 fun booze movies. Glad to see the awesomely vulgar Bad Santa make the list. I'm also a fan of Bobcat Goldwaith's Shakes the Clown considered the "Citizen Kane" of alcoholic clown films!

"Bobcat Goldwaith's Shakes the Clown considered the "Citizen Kane" of alcoholic clown films!"
That was a funny movie, especially if you're into laughing at alcoholic clowns. The opening scene with Shakes waking up on the bathroom floor with his date's kid peeing on his head was hilarious.

plus most aren't FR safe. I still cringe listening to Goodman's smash the Corvette scene.
Raising Arizona is another quote-rich Coen Bros movie.
I'll be taking these huggies and whatever cash you have in the drawer.
