He married an attractive blonde by the name of Tanya Smedvig - or something like that. She was married to the 1st trumptet of the BSO and then got a divorce. Men love her (well, some men) and she has used her many talents to navigate into a position of importance with the symphony.
Since her relationship with Taylor she has managed to negotiate some choice appearances for her husband with the BSO. She has also arranged appearances in some other venues. She has been an asset to his career.
He is supposedly a genuinely nice guy - even though he is a total liberal. Nice guys usually love bitchy women.
I hope that isn't always true.
