Phone use spans time of team party
In the middle of a Duke lacrosse party where a dancer said she was gang-raped for 30 minutes, a call was placed from her cell phone to a Durham escort service.
The 12:26 a.m. call to the service, Centerfold, lasted one minute, according to a copy of her cell phone bill reviewed by The News & Observer. It is unclear whether the call was a request for another job, a cry for help or something else, or even whether the accuser made the call herself.
But the accuser's phone records add some details to the chronology of the March 13 party, a drunken spring break bash that spawned a national controversy.
Neither prosecutors nor defense lawyers would discuss the phone records Tuesday. Neither the accuser nor a second dancer at the party could be reached, nor could representatives of Centerfold. Police Chief Steve Chalmers was out of town; his spokeswoman said he would not discuss the case.
Three players have been charged with first-degree rape, sexual offense and kidnapping: Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J.; Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, N.Y.; and Dave Evans, 23, of Bethesda, Md. Lawyers for the players have proclaimed their clients' innocence and said no rape or sex occurred at the house at 610 N. Buchanan Blvd.
District Attorney Mike Nifong, whose handling of the case has undergone national scrutiny, has been adamant that the woman was raped at the party. Nifong has not given a precise timeline of when he thinks an assault occurred.

Further, in reference to the second driver - Brian Taylor - it came out that the AV told the Police the DNA could've been his - along with Jarriel Johnson and Matt Murchison.
That article is nauseating. It misstates facts and the idea that one incident defines someone's character is ridiculous. It's obvious the author has some serious resentments against people who are wealthy.
Good God. Talking about "preppy arrogance" and peoples "daddies" makes my stomach turn too. People seem to think it's okay to bash people who are wealthy, white, "preppy" etc. I've seen this going on from the start of the Duke case and I'm sorry it happened to you too.
I agree. I'm glad you e-mailed the Justice Department. At this point, I'm ready to rock the boat too. Everything that's going on in Durham and DC is disturbing. Why did they have to take the DC case to trial and why now? They could have put the whole thing off considering DC is in the middle of a crime emergency. Basically they wanted a show trial and I think the judge had his mind made up from the start.
Thanks Mike, I remeber that puff peice now.
And that's the only mention of Brian Taylor in the entire Universe.
No other paper or media outlet has asked the questions that the N&O neglected to ask.
He didn't say whether they drank alcohol? He didn't say - what a great investigative interview !!!!
Brian Taylor:
"She was supposed to call me to come pick her up."
Why didn't she call Taylor, instead calling Centerfold?
Because there was MO' MONEY to be made!
Maybe Centerfold is his home base?
Good Question: She may have wanted to know if she their was another job that Taylor could take her to.
Remember, Kim Roberts said in her handwritten statement that the AV was upset that Kim had called off the dance - and that the AV wouldn't to make MORE $$$. She thought there was more $$$ to be made.
This witness is SO important to the case (Brian Taylor). How can ANY newspaper justify this:
"He did not say whether they consumed any alcohol."
Is is too much to ASK, or was that not the agreement made with the lawyer brokering the interview? The N&O should've disclosed any agreements like that.
He doesn't offer and apparently was NOT asked whether they had Sexx?
He doesn't offer and was NOT asked about drugs that night or every or his experience with the AV in regard to Drugs.
They mention times that they left HIS house, yet they don't mention where his house is - NOT even the city. Don't mention how long the drive or distance is from his house.
The Media has told us NOTHING about Matthew Murchison, Jarriel Johnson, or Brian Taylor. Sure, if you go look up the documents yourself and read through documents and motions you can gleen a little information, but in how many cases does the media put the burden on the public to discern the information?
This site has provided more information on the 3 than everywhere else combined, IMO.

You beat me to it. I was composing mine and then when I posted, I saw you beat me to it!
We know those two women were motivated by money!!
Great minds on this thread...
It may be protocol to report when leaving a job - so that they know you are available for another.
Drivers had to do that years ago. Like people delivering supplies to businesses. When one delivery was complete, they had to call the dispatcher and report the drop was made. The dispatcher had the opportunity to send the driver to a priority location at that point or have him continue his original schedule.
Jarriel Johnson couldn't drive her after she ruined his cell phone by dumping her drink on it.
I assume she needed another driver with a cell phone. Could be wrong...
Oops, posted the above to myself.
The AV very specifically places the dance in the master bedroom with the big TV and a couch in it. I am referring to the 4/4 lineup transcript. She is very specific at placing those wathching the dance in the master bedroom, including the broomstick boy. At one point she says #26 was in the living room. When Gottlieb repeats that, she changes it to the master bedroom.
Check out the transcript.
One problem, the dance was actually in the living room. Kim says so. The photos say so. Affidavits from witnesses say so.
Oh. I thought you were just talking to yourself. And answering! ;)
It makes my blood boil too. The author obviously resents kids like Finnerty and his friends. The verbal abuse was going back and forth between both groups that night. It was a streetfight. Big deal. And one streetfight doesn't define anyone's character.
And no, he'll never apologize to Collin.
In a way I would love to see this joke played out in court on national TV, but not at the expense of the accused. Though, it could aide in civil suits.
By talking to myself I don't p!ss anyone off. LOL
