They know I am writing this article. I've been wanting to write it for years. Here's what I tell them: I am worried about boys.
I'm a little more worried about how you've allowed them to act ungentlemanly.

About ten years ago, university GPA statistics started crossing my desk, because I was the department chair, and I wondered aloud why men at our college generally received lower grades than women.Because other than the hard sciences higher education has been totally femynized!

I thought he was making some good points until he got to this: Nowhere to go, except Iraq maybe. They keep raising the bonus for enlistment; they keep tempting him to put himself in the mix. I always think he's a bag of flesh to them, a bullet stopper. What the hell is that? If the kid has dropped out of high school, the military doesn't want him. That's nonsense and not truthful.

I blame the feminist movement for what has happened here and the willingness of liberal men to go along with their agenda. Character lessons are critically important for young men.
Accountability
Honesty
Responsibility
Doing a job well
Sticking up for the little kid who cannot
Shoveling the old lady next door's walk for free
Handing back the money when the cashier gives you too much
Kicking his ass when he disrespects his mother
No rewards for blowing off chores
You cheat, you are a loser
No practice, no play
No trash talking
Speak your mind, respectfully
Do what you said you would do...until it violates your core beliefs
These are all lessons that Men have taught their sons for years that were pushed aside or devalued. Too many men grow up to act like Mamma's boys and lack honor and code.

I think I might have read three books in high school that were assigned to me. At the same time, I read several that I had far more interest in. I know it is hard to imagine, but there was no way I was going to read The Awakening.

...not the problem. And it sure as hell isn't women... I disagree heartily.
Women are and have been a powerful force over men. Especially morally. Our modern women watch as authentic manliness was and is systematically destroyed in boys, and have for decades since De Beauvoir and Friedan. So, what do our boys see? Women telling men they're worthless (like a bicycle to a fish). Women becoming pregnant without husbands. Women raising children without fathers. Women treating men as schmucks on TV shows. Women telling men there's nothing unique about manliness. Women acting like men. Women as front line soldiers. Women taking dodge balls from gym class.
Women, via what 'feminism' has become, bear a significant part of the blame in our loss of authentic manhood. Along with unmanly men.
