The CFR link in that article isn't working. So here it is:

The gig is up on their little plan to make this a North American utopia where we suffer while the Mexicans enjoy in the name of equalization. Look to East and West Germany for a clue as to why it never works. Close the friggin' border already and enforce existing laws Bush Administration!

Opposition had better be mounting!

The entire illegal invader movement is a part and parcel of a monstrous scheme against the sovereignty of the United States and it has more to do with our downfall than with an EU-type cabal.

The accommodators, unfortunately, include most of those who are supposedly serving us in the present and past governments.

Communists flourish within our borders (along with the islamic killers) and they're leading the Aztlan movement, using the castoffs invading us to accomplish their goal.

Aztlan is the subversive group using immigration to break away the Southwest from the United States to destroy us.

Their goal: divide and conquer, in the name of international socialism/communism.

When one considers that California, the sixth largest economy in the world, being joined to Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas the puzzle becomes complete and the realization finally sinks in that losing control of this vast area leads directly to the destruction of America.

Our government encourages the invasion of our country and the Aztlan treachery. This scheme is so obvious it has to be by design. To attempt explanation of our government leaders' complicity defies all logic.

Americans who truly care about their destiny and that of our nation need to be aware and to resist this insipid attack on our nation's sovereignty in every way possible.

It is possible to deport and to completely discourage this invasion of the U. S. A. by the dregs of Mexican and South American society. Many of these commit the sexual crimes, the murders, the stealing and the waste of whatever resources cities and states have.

Get them out the way we hunt down murderers and other assorted criminals: one at a time if necessary!

Is this a joke?

I'm serious, because if it's not ..... this is just craziness.

Be prepared. The cleanup crew will be here in a few minutes to call this all lies and to call you stupid. I don't know who or what to believe when it comes to this topic. WND is a dubious source. Something deep down inside of me tells me this is true or in the works.

We live on a continent whose three countries possess the assets to make it the strongest, most prosperous and self-sufficient area on Earth. Within the borders of this North American continent are the food, resources, technology and undeveloped territory which, properly managed, could dramatically improve the quality of life of all its inhabitants.

It is no accident that this unmatched potential for progress and prosperity exists in three countries with such long-standing heritages of free government. A developing closeness among Canada, Mexico and the United States--a North American accord--would permit achievement of that potential in each country beyond that which I believe any of them--strong as they are--could accomplish in the absence of such cooperation. In fact, the key to our own future security may lie in both Mexico and Canada becoming much stronger countries than they are today.

No one can say at this point precisely what form future cooperation among our three countries will take. But if I am elected President, I would be willing to invite each of our neighbors to send a special representative to our government to sit in on high level planning sessions with us, as partners, mutually concerned about the future of our continent. First, I would immediately seek the views and ideas of Canadian and Mexican leaders on this issue, and work tirelessly with them to develop closer ties among our peoples. It is time we stopped thinking of our nearest neighbors as foreigners.

Ronald Reagan, November 13, 1979.

It's only a matter of time before this thread gets moved to "Chat". That always puzzles me.

Can anyone tell me why this was moved to General/Chat? This happened last week, and I don't understand why this isn't a story that deserves News status as it is most definitely current as we attempt to deal with open borders and illegal aliens.

If Mexico wants to become part of the US let them petition to become states. That way the US voters get a say and OUR laws don't get watered down.

BUMP ! What do you folks think about this Farah article in the World Net Daily ?

A few years ago, I might have thought that it was just another conspiracy theory. However, seeing Bush pushing hard for "guest worker" program and how border security which is crucial to national security was only getting a serious attention after Minutemen activists stepped in, it may seem that North American equivalent of EU is really in works behind the backs of American voters. Plus, people like Lou Dobbs and Jerome Corsi do not seem like conspiracy theory nuts at all. They are respectable authors, serious researchers and public figures.

Maybe some details Farah got wrong, but in principle, could it be that the megalomaniac globalist project is being pushed down the throats of average Americans, Canadians and Mexicans ? If that's even partially true, I definitely don't want any part of that. We see how "effective" European Union is and we definitely don't want the same thing happening with the United States. US, Canada and Mexico should be good neighbors--there is absolutely no reason to merge them into a one giant superstate.
