That was the ugliest thing I have ever seen in sports

It's in the Top Ten but probably not the worst:

10. Ty Cobb starting a brawl in Philadelphia after a hard slide into third.
9. Ron Artest instigates a brawl in Detroit that spills over into the stands.
8. Zidane head-butting an opponent in a World Cup final.
7. Joe "Turkey" Jones pile-driving Terry Bradshaw into the turf head-first.
6. Todd Bertuzzi sucker-punches a Colorado Avalanche player from behind and puts him in the hospital.
5. Wayne Maki cracking Ted Green's skull with his stick during an *exhibition* NHL game.
4. Kermit Washington's punch that fractured Rudy Tomjanovich's face.
3. Juan Marichal beating Johnny Roseboro over the head with a baseball bat.
2. Dennis Rodman marrying Carmen Electra.
1. Mike Tyson biting off a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear.

Top Ten list:

What about Tonya Harding getting the other figure skater attacked and injured. (forgot her name)

It's in the Top Ten but probably not the worst:

The guy that picked up Bret Farve and dump him on his head long after Farve threw the ball has to make the top 10.

Well, I would certainly put the Minn.-OSU Luke Witte basketball incident in the top 10.

Well, while it was an accident, I think Clint Malarchuk's injury was clearly the ugliest thing I have ever seen in sports, if not anywhere.

For those unfamiliar, he is a former NHL goalie who, while playing for the Buffalo Sabres in 1989, was hit in the throat by the skate of an opponent in a collision. It sliced open his outer jugular, and he instantly began spilling pools of blood all over the ice.

You can see a video on Youtube, but it is EXTREMELY graphic and not at all for the faint of heart. I'd have to warn you a thousand times over on that, so I'm not posting a link - if you want to see it, you'll have to find it yourself.

The French side is filled with slammies -- like the "reverter" < a href = "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franck_Rib%C3%A9ry"> Ribéry</a>
