Italy beat France, saving French linguists the troublesome task of inventing a word for "victory."
USA !!!
OK. So I'm reaching here.
"You can take the player out of France, but you can't take the French out of the player."
The players are too exhausted to play additional minutes. For the finals, I think if it ends in a tie, they should play the next day.
Walkin' past the trophy on his way out of the stadium. What a disgrace.
Cheers to Germany for a fantastic job hosting the World Cup and to the Italians. The best team today won the match.
I very much doubt that South Africa will do nearly as well.
That means we're co-champions, right?
Wasn't that the one where Baggio fanned a PK over the goal?
Another ROTFL.
Are you sure you two guys don't do a comedy tag team together??
I think so. Co-champ trophies in the mail.

Afterwards, did he punch the black guy in the chest?
Well, at least these bad announcers will be off the air for a while....although ESPN has locked up the rights for a long time.
Can you image the heat in South Africa????

#1. We don't "suck" at it. We're not among the best in the world, but we don't suck. (We tied Italy, the eventual champions, even though we were a man down for half the game. Teams that "suck" don't do that)
#2. There are some very real problems with world soccer. Problems that many informed, rabid worldwide soccer fans acknowledge.
One is the pervasive diving. Soccer is such a low scoring game that a dive that leads to a penalty kick or an opposing player being sent off can very well be the deciding factor. A game that can so easily be decided by rampant cheating is suspect.
Penalty kicks as the deciding factor of a game (especially one as important as the World Cup) is like deciding the World Series by a home-run derby. Wouldn't you call that "dumb"? Most baseball fans would.
Has ABC already stopped broadcasting? They're not showing the celebration and the awarding of the Cup?
