OOOPS - I forgot to put the points in my last FReepmail. Here they are:

p1152_L939_K12M_ext_from638 = 239
p1163_p1136_p1130_L939_K12M_355K = 241
p1808_Collagen_Brodsky_r = 153 points)
p1809_Collagen_POG10new_ = 153
p2106_lambda_5way_melt_4_10011 = 202
p2107_lambda_5way_melt_4_10011 = 404
p2409_Ribo_lysine_sidechain = ? (I haven't gotten that one yet.)

Hope that helps.

RT

Thanks! I did manage to get these added. Let me know if you find any more that are showing as ?? in the points, but you're able to figure out from your history their point values.

For 2,000,000 points you ought to rate a fancier certificate.

To anybody who can answer a Linux question:
I'm trying to install FAH on my Kubuntu hard drive. How come my console doesn't know what to do with "FAH502-Linux.exe"? It says the file doesn't exist, but it's on my desktop.

How come my console doesn't know what to do with "FAH502-Linux.exe"?

Not sure how to run it from the GUI. I bring up a terminal to a command line and run it from my directory like this:

cd /home/egon/fah
./FAH504-Linux.exe > /dev/null 2> err.log &
You need the dot-slash in front of it so it knows it's an executable. The next part pipes any output to a file. The trailing ampersand tells it to run in the background. That way I can close up the terminal and it'll still be running as a process.

Anyone feel free to correct me, or elaborate on this, as I'm nowhere near an expert in the land of Linux!

Got it. Thanks!

I've added a new tool to enter these red-headed step-child projects directly. It's a new button on the FAH Monitor page.

A couple of notes on adding projects:

Don't worry about breaking anything. If worse comes to worse, I can go in and use a "giant hand" approach to fixing it. ;-)

Thanks. I tried to run it from the console, I just didn't have the complete command (because I have a lot to learn about Linux). I was able to use Easy Ubuntu to install Firefox plugins and several other conveniences. The kind souls who created that understood ignorant, frustrated newbies. [like me] I really like (K)Ubuntu.

Thanks! That's the beauty of the new system: they'll never fall off again.

Hah!

In this context, it's more of an "ode to dad". Back when we were young and working on model trains with dad, anytime we couldn't do something with switches, buttons, etc., but had to reach over the model and fix it manually, he would call it a "giant hand operation".

Wow - does that bring back memories.   I still have my Lionel O-gauge set from when I was a kid.  When my daughter was growing up, I set it up on a 4' x 8' plywood board covered in green felt on top of the dining room table ( I think that was one of the things that drove my ex crazy, but it was not like she ever cooked a full meal or anything, LOL).  I added more track, switches, lights, and a second engine and more cars - my daughter (and all her friends) loved it & she got to where she could run it better than me.  Those were good times and great memories.  I still have that set, but it's packed away now, waiting for some grandkids to come along.

From the Overclocker's News Page:

Upgraded Some Things On The Server...

07.10.06, 3:48pm CST

I did some server updates right before the 3pm stats run. It ran very quick and I'm not sure if it's just due to the upgrade from PHP4 to PHP5 or if something went terribly wrong.

If you encounter any problems with the numbers, please, please contact me immediately. Be sure to include as much info as you can! Simply saying they are broke is not going to help me any.

My stats are missing, so sent Jason a note via their "Contact Us" page.

Everyone check their stats.

EOC has a wrong total for me, but FAH has it right--I got 600 pts. last night that EOC doesn't show. I'm hoping that they'll have it on their next update, which is in less than 1/2 an hour.
