Forgive the ping of a long-dead thread. But I just got an email from the producers of the film, and I thought y'all might want to know (I'm paraphrasing their email to me):
Donovan Montierth and his two brother, Adam, wrote, produced and directed the "Reveille" short film starring David Huddleston and James McEachin. He and Adam are also Eagle Scouts.
It shows in "Reveille" that although they never served in the US Armed forces they have a great respect for those who did and for the Flag and our country.
This being 9-11 and all, I just thought it was worth sharing a little bit of patriotism.
Carry on . . .
I forgot to add: both Adam and Donovan are Eagle Scouts!
This thing is pretty classy. What DID happen to the AF guy?
I am watching FNC's streaming 9/11 coverage. That day that all of our representatives stood on the Capitol steps seems very far away.
On my drive in to work this morning, I heard Bill Bennett try to encourage us to come up with a bumper sticker slogan for the day and all I could think of is "Have you forgotten?"
But in a more positive spirit, as our two "antagonists" in this film present, America means different things to different people. How about bumping me back to this thread, rather than my starting a new one, filling in the blanks on this statement.
I love America because__________________...
I'll start. I love America because we acknowlege that our freedoms come from a higher power than government, that freedom is not man given, but God given.
